We selected this hotel because it was centrally located and very near where our daughter was living for the year and it did not disappoint in that respect. However, if you are taller than five feet do not accept a room on the fifth floor of this hotel as you will be hitting your head incessantly on the "ceiling" of...

Fantastic location for getting around madrid. It's very clean and stylish. You are two minutes walk to grand via and two minutes walk from sol tube stop . You have bars just around the corner. I would stay again. It's very noisy on Saturday nights as there's a night club on the same street and slot of people are outside...

This hotel is rather elegant and very central, although in a back street. Our room was in the back, so very quiet at night. Our room and bathroom were good and very clean with a free safe in the bedroom. There are no tea and coffee making facilities (we took our own!) The wifi was very poor and the T.V....

The hotel is perfect for sightseeing as it's right in the centre but tucked away so not too noisy. The hotel was fully booked when we got there but the bar and lounge was permenantly empty. Our room was lovely, but far too warm and when we asked if there was a way to cool down we were told no....

Stayed here 1 night on Jan 27, back for 2 nights on Feb 3-4. Booked direct with hotel. The advantages are you will get free mini bar and late check-out at 2pm. In addition, hotel provides free wifi router, good gesture and uncommon in Spain. Service of the staff is also excellent. Location of the hotel is only 5 mins...

The room was rather compact, but very nice with a good bed and a large bathroom. There was everything you need. Breakfast was really good with a wide choice of products. And from the hotel to Puerto del Sol maybe 1 minut walk. You cannot be more centrally located in Madrid.

Me and my boyfriend stayed here for a couple of nights in January. We found the accommodation exceeded our expectations. The hotel was located in a very central location, with plenty of restaurants and bars near by to keep up with our appetites. The staff were very friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay the best we...

I know Madrid fairly well, so the location was pleasing and very central. I had booked for three nights Friday, Saturday and Sunday. On arrival we were given room 309 on the third floor at the front of the hotel in Calle Aduana. At around 1am we were woken by street noise, singing, bottles smashing, shouting and fighting. This went...

Perfect area, everything is located nearby. Close to culture and shopping streets. Good breakfast. Clean room. Big bed. Big bathroom. Great stuff that was very serviceminded. Feelt luxury. Had a nightclub as a neighbour. I had window to the street and heard a small noice from the club during saturday night. But the noice was not loud and I slept...

Spent three nights in this hotel this week and unfortunately did not get one good night's sleep. The street noise is incredible! The hotel is gorgeous, the staff are so helpful and the water pressure in the shower is amazing. But unfortunately the street outside, which looks deceptively quiet is far from quiet. With landings open to the lobby internal...

Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
