Stayed recently there for business 2 nights. Part of the hotel rooms have been work on. I was staying in one of the ones refurbished and the room was fine. Excellent size (quite big actually), some basic appliances such as iron, kettle, instant coffe... The location is the best thing as it is based on Princesa street which is part...

We stayed here for 5 nights. Other than the good reception from the lobby bar/restaurant from Jhonny, & Carlos the rest of the staff were very unfriendly. Being non Spanish speaking tourists even a simple "Hi" would not have been to much to ask for. There were no family amenities, e.g microwave, bottle warmer, baby cleaning kit. The room was...

Advertised with swimming pool - but there is limited use and it is separate from the hotel. Pool staff are rude also. The hotel was fairly average and on the expensive side and we did not have a good view at all even though we were up high. Wouldn't return.

Great staff, very helpful.Got an extra room free when the original booking was wrong. Rooms were comfortable, good heating/air conditioning system. Easy access to center of city with tube. Walking distance. Breakfast was extensive, but luke warm food served on cold plates not good and staff there were uninterested.

This Marriott is quite dated , had issues with the rooms asked for non smoking however room clearly was smoked . The rooms do not have tea or coffee making facilities which even a budget hotel or b&b offers this was only available in their premium rooms . The gym was a shared facility not too exception

This hotel has some very good things going for it, but it really needs to make a little more effort. The rooms are spacious, with good views from the top floors. The large beds are extremely comfortable, the bathrooms are ok. But why spoil everything by having extremely worn out furniture and carpet? The breakfast also requires attention. For example,...

Staying in Malasana

Neighbourhood Profile
Malasana
Hip bars and galleries, independent theaters and music venues, young people with tattoos and funky hair, narrow winding streets — this is Malasaña. Near the center, Plaza Dos de Mayo is a gathering of friends outside bars, dog owners, artists under craft tents, and creative types with notebooks and sketchpads on the plaza’s benches. It may not be as neat and tidy as many other parts of the city, but this only adds to the Malasaña edge. Shops and bars here range from hippie-crunchy to upscale trendy, and on weekends, the streets are bustling around the clock as the nightlife progresses from dinner to bar to disco to late-night food. On the west side of the neighbourhood is the subdistrict called Conde Duque, named after a large pink fort in its center that has been converted into a cultural center for exhibitions and performances. Prettier yet just as edgy, this intimate corner of Malasaña is home to a young international community.
