Hotel Arosa is in a great location on Gran Via in the centre of Madrid. It's easy to access using the metro from the airport although if there's a few of you then you may consider the even easier option of getting a taxi as it's a fixed rate of only €24. Good breakfast - it's not amazing but ok...

Now, I always write a review based on what a hotel tries to be. And I booked this as a decent priced hotel, not luxury, which is exactly what I got. Glorious price, great location. A bit tired round the edges - cracked tiles, a bit shabby in places. But, in all, nothing to complain about

Right in the heart of Madrid. 30 steps from Grand via. The hotel has the smaller elevador in the world. (See picture below) Rooms were clean and staff was very friendly. Breakfast was good as well!!!!

This hotel is in the perfect place for a sight seeing trip to Madrid, and of course a bit of retail therapy on Gran via. The room we had on the 6th floor was large enough but looked in need of a bit of TLC. It was a shame the lounge / bar was shut when we were there as...

Located on the Gran Via, good option for people who look to be in the heart of the city The hotel is very basic, 3 stars not 4. The breakfast is OK The rooms are fine and very clean. Toiletries very basic.

Having stayed here in 2001 and 2012, we were excited to come back to the Arosa this March. The rates were excellent for the off-season (98 to 116 Eu inc. breakfast and mini-bar for a stay of more than 2 nights). When we arrived, there was no one to take our luggage up the several stairs to the Reception Desk...

The hotel is just off the Gran Via and is within easy walking distance of Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor and the Royal Palace. It is also very close to Gran Via metro station for transport from and to the airport. My single room was clean and comfortable with plenty of room. As is so often the case the television...

Definitely not 4 star but guess the mini bar maybe qualifies it as a 4 star however central so location is good. Stayed in 2 rooms during my stay as the window wouldnt close on my last day so had to move rooms. My single room was small but quiet as inside, and had been renovated so nicer bathroom and...

Junior suite was relatively large and nicely appointed. Bed good and large but not the most comfortable based on American luxury standards. Location excellent. Within a casual 15 minute walk to multiple top attractions. Less than 5 minutes to several bakeries and top restaurants. Does have a few steps to main lobby. Not wheelchair friendly.

I stayed here for 2 nights with my daughter. The location is good being right off one of the main roads. The downside of this was the noise. The rooms are basic but good enough if you only need a place to sleep. The bed was comfortable but pillows sad and flat. The decor is dated but everything was neat...

Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
