Only spent one night here - before our flight back home. Owner, Mario was nice and helpful. She let us checked in early since our train from Barcelona arrived early. Had the 3 bed room. There's more space than expected. Its clean as well as the bathroom. Beds were comfy and the AC was great since it can get warm... More

I stayed with two friends for one night and was a good price for a great location. Easy to come from the airport, two minutes walking from Callao station. some blocks around you'll find many stores, restaurants and streets's activities.

I stayed 2 nights with my brother and it was great. It was really clean, nice beds, a balcony, friendly staff. Bathroom was too small for us, but it worked good. Get out of the building and you are in the middle of Gran Via, steps away of Callao, Sol and Chueca. It wasn't the best view to Madrid, but... More

A very clean hostel in the heart of Madrid. Very moderately priced. Breakfast just coffee, juice and toast with 3 €. Reception 24 hours. I do recommend! Easy to come from the airport or the railway station. Two metro lines pass the hostel. Also the airport buses goes near by. Lots of nice restaurants close all over the area, especially... More

Very small hostal in the heart of Calle Gran Via. Great deal because it's very close to main attractions: Puerta del Sol, Prado Museum. The room is basic but you have all you need in it. They cannot speak English very well but for me it wasn't a problem.

A very quaint nice small hotel in the middle of the Gran Via shopping area, and only minutes walk to lovely food and to Puerto Del Sol. Its occupying one floor in an office block. A nice antiquated lift brings you to the 7th floor. Room is basic and have amenities you'd want and with a lovely old-fashioned window and... More

Stayed here with a few friends and enjoyed the location and hospitality. Private bathrooms and safes were nice. Beds were not very comfortable (they were more like cots), but it was a good deal.

Staying in Centro

Neighbourhood Profile
Centro
Expansive plazas, local and foreign crowds, street performers, colorful lights, window shopping, restaurant signs promising the best paella, ham, and churros con chocolate- this is downtown Madrid, a collection of plazas interconnected by a network of side streets. Some of these side streets are wide pedestrian shopping routes, and some are hidden, so it's possible to duck in and out of the bustle as desired. The iconic Puerta del Sol is the giant crossroads of the city and a must-see attraction at any time of the day. The nearby Plaza Mayor, completely enclosed by historic red buildings, is an ideal place to grab a bite to eat outside, amidst scores of tables and people out for a stroll. Plaza Isabel II (also known as “Opera”) is smaller and a good meeting spot, and the stately Plaza del Oriente is the front yard of the Royal Palace. Centro can be touristy (pickpockets are unfortuately not unheard-of here), crowded, and sometimes gimmicky, but it is also the place to experience classic Madrid.
