Stayed here for 5 nights and on 2 occasions we came back from a day out to find our rooms had not been made up despite a card having been left on our door. The room was a good size with good size single beds. Despite having requested a quiet room the street below our room (we were on the...

Lovely hotel, friendly staff, great location and fab rooms. A great base to explore the city! Easy to walk to the major sights, but also great metro links and lovely neighbourhood. We really enjoyed exploring Madrid while based here.

The hotel is located in a nice area, very close to the metro and you can be in the heart of Madrid within 10-15 minutes. The people at the front desk speak both Spanish and English. They were polite and very helpful with all requests. I shared a room with a friend for 3 nights. The room was very spacious...

The hotel is located in the north side of Madrid central area. It has about 4 subway stations at 5-10 min walking distance. In about 20 minutes you can get to the actual center of Madrid as well (Puerta del Sol, Palacio Real, Plaza de Cibeles). The room and bathroom were big enough; cleaning was done daily and and towels...

We stayed in this hotel for three nights, room was big but bed could have been a bigger size. Parking was a nightmare, if you have a medium or large size car forget it and changed 20€ per night, would never go back to this hotel!

Pros: Spacious room, friendly staff, a crib provided for our baby. The hotel has certain style. Our room resembled a chamber in the Royal palace: the drapes, bed covers and cushions were of dark blue with golden flowers pattern, and the bed had coat of arms on it. Quite a difference from the usual faceless hotel room. Cons: the hotel...

Pros : Large room, quiet area, location. Cons : Overpriced, dated and tired all around, not a four star hotel. The hotel is well located...close enough to tourist areas, next to restaurants and bars, with food shops close by. Metro (lines 1 & 4) within 5 minutes walk. Line 1 goes directly to both major train stations (Chamartin & Atocha)...

Staying in Chamberi

Neighbourhood Profile
Chamberi
Multi-story residential buildings decorated with ornate balconies line the traditional, quiet, and pretty streets of Chamberí. Humble storefronts and neighbourhood taverns are scattered across the lower levels down every block, and here and there, there's a cluster of tables on the sidewalk. It isn't ever crowded, but people are always out, poking into the tiny bakeries, hardware stores, and tobacco shops, or ducking into a bright, unadorned cerveceria to have a coffee or beer by the bar, flip through the paper, and check the sports score. The round Plaza Olavide, where the fairly regular network of streets breaks form, is among the most green and lively spots. Restaurants line its circumference and sought-after outdoor tables fill the center of the plaza, where people relax to the sounds of kids playing and street musicians' tunes.
