This hotel is in a great location at the opposite end of Chueca from Gran Via, 5 mins walk. The staff are lovely and nothing is a problem. The rooms have everything you could need for your stay. I really couldn't find any fault with the whole experience.

Overall a pleasant hotel with clean rooms and in a good location. Make sure you don't get given one of the rooms on the first floor above the jazz club, but more importantly above the bottle recycling bin for (what seems like) the entire district! If you're a light sleeper, you won't sleep! Otherwise very happy with the hotel and... More

We booked in to the Petite Palace Santa Barbara Hotel for three nights during October half term to do some sightseeing. Upon check-in we were given a room in the attic and told that was all that was available by a female receptionist short on interpersonal skills. When we got to the room we discovered there was no window to... More

I went to Madrid with my girlfriend to visit my daughter who's spending a semester here studying and we fell in love with the city! The hotel is in a great location close to a variety of restaurants, shopping and sites to see. Furthest we walked was to Royal Palace, which took about 25 minutes...which was not a lot for... More

Great location, near the metro, plenty of restaurants in the vicinity, walking distance to old Madrid but no feeling of being in a tourist area. We stayed in the six bed family room that has an excellent design.

Very nice little hotel. Service is really friendly, and fast. We arrived earlier to the hotel than expected - at 11am, and they had our room ready for us immediately. Room was quite small, no fuss, but clean and comfortable. The location is great. Walking distance to all the major attractions, and yet it is in a somewhat quiet street... More

Staying in Chueca

Neighbourhood Profile
Chueca
Chueca is the hip, gay neighbourhood of Madrid where many of the streets are narrow and intimate, but where the hustle and bustle and the eclectic storefronts and people give it a distinctly urban feel. The main thoroughfare is Calle Hortaleza and the main square is Plaza Chueca, completely filled with terraza tables serving copas (mixed drinks) during summer. A mixture of trendy and grungy, some of the adult businesses here are explicitly racy in their signage. From the rainbow flags to the signs above the entrances of its many funky bars, to the date spot restaurants, Chueca is a vibrant and colorful place. It's always interesting to explore the different corners of Chueca by day, and by night, the area becomes a major nightlife destination when the clubs open their doors.
