My husband and I spent 4 nights in this hotel last week. We really loved everything about it. The location was great - walking distance to Plaza Mayor and Puerto de Sol, the Prado and other museums and so much in all directions. The staff were young and energetic, ready to help with anything needed. They always had smiles on...

This hotel was perfect in every way. The receptionist were friendly. The atmosphere was relaxing. The rooms were comfortable and perfectly made for a familien with older kids. We had one king bed in our room and four bunk beds. There was also a small treat for our kids in the room upon arrival. The breakfast had everything you wished...

I was in Madrid on a research trip for my work and found the hotel's location ideal for getting to the places I needed to visit, as well as for just soaking up the city's wonderful atmosphere. Its close to the metro, but its also within walking distance to some key attractions. The breakfast included in the room rate was...

We stayed for 3 nights in this hotel as part of week long trip to Segovia, Madrid and Toledo. Front counter staff were very efficient and helpful and gave us very good recommendations for dining and shows. The hotel was very comfortable, clean and well maintained if a little further from the centre than we had hoped. Also, it was...

Stayed here for 4 nights. The Good Staff were very friendly courteous and helpful. Food at breakfast was very good. Nice rooms, we had family room with bunk beds. The location is fantastic, about 1 mile from centre or 1 min walk to Alonso Martinez metro station which links to all main central areas and attentions within 6 stops. 15-20...

The service is great. Isabel check us inn anf could not be any better. The room was a little noise from the other rooms. We enjoyed two wonderful nights here and will definitely stay here again when in Madrid. We were on the 3rd floor overlooking the square which I would recommend. Even with all the Friday night crowd the sound is locked out when the patio door is closed. The room, in fact the whole third floor, looks to have had a very...

My mom, two sisters and I loved the Petit Palace! It was not only so cute and had everything we needed, but it was walking distance to the best restaurants, stores and sites. We have stayed in boutique hotels almost our entire 10 day trip and this was spectacular! We miss you Spain!

Staying in Chueca

Neighbourhood Profile
Chueca
Chueca is the hip, gay neighbourhood of Madrid where many of the streets are narrow and intimate, but where the hustle and bustle and the eclectic storefronts and people give it a distinctly urban feel. The main thoroughfare is Calle Hortaleza and the main square is Plaza Chueca, completely filled with terraza tables serving copas (mixed drinks) during summer. A mixture of trendy and grungy, some of the adult businesses here are explicitly racy in their signage. From the rainbow flags to the signs above the entrances of its many funky bars, to the date spot restaurants, Chueca is a vibrant and colorful place. It's always interesting to explore the different corners of Chueca by day, and by night, the area becomes a major nightlife destination when the clubs open their doors.
