The staff were pleasant, room adequate. The website was confusing re breakfast included (if paid extra). It would have been good to have signs in the building for the hotel-as guests we had little idea where to go once we found the address.

It was hard to believe there were places this nice in this part of town for this amount of money. We stayed in a really nice room with a double bed with private bathroom, and it was better than half the hotels I usually stay in. Friendly, helpful staff and a nice Madrid-friendly checkout time of 12pm topped things off.

Very central, in one of Madrid's nicest areas, just 5 minutes from the main shopping street. Rooms were really clean, maybe one of the cleanest places I have ever been! Staff speaks good English and is very friendly and hospitable! Breakfast is also nice, with fresh orange juice included every morning. Only problem was that our room was facing the street, and...

This place was more like a hotel than a hostel! I stayed alone for 2 nights. When I entered the bedrrom the towels were folded like swans! The accomodation was ok: Air conditioner, free wifi, as well as comfortable bed and tv. The bathroom was very small, difficult to shower. The best thing is the location, San Bernardo Street is...

I am confused whether this is a hostel or hotel but based on my experience this is a Hotel. Their staff were very helpful and attentive to us, Julia, Gabrielle and Chris were like professional hotel front desk staff. They speak English and gave us tips on how to go around the city and places to visit. They also made...

The hotel is right next to the Metro station but is so central, you can see most of the sights of Madrid on foot. The rooms are classical, clean and quiet. The staff are attentive and the wifi is fast and reliable. Vouchers are given for breakfast for use in one of two cafes nearby. You don't get too much...

Staying in Malasana

Neighbourhood Profile
Malasana
Hip bars and galleries, independent theaters and music venues, young people with tattoos and funky hair, narrow winding streets — this is Malasaña. Near the center, Plaza Dos de Mayo is a gathering of friends outside bars, dog owners, artists under craft tents, and creative types with notebooks and sketchpads on the plaza’s benches. It may not be as neat and tidy as many other parts of the city, but this only adds to the Malasaña edge. Shops and bars here range from hippie-crunchy to upscale trendy, and on weekends, the streets are bustling around the clock as the nightlife progresses from dinner to bar to disco to late-night food. On the west side of the neighbourhood is the subdistrict called Conde Duque, named after a large pink fort in its center that has been converted into a cultural center for exhibitions and performances. Prettier yet just as edgy, this intimate corner of Malasaña is home to a young international community.
