every body is nice in this hostel, and at the mornings, you do not have to go far from your bed to get a delicious breakfast because the hostel gives free churros and milk. i love this place a lot. :)

I stayed at Las Musas at the beginning of my vacation arriving in Spain and then at the end before leaving Spain and I really enjoyed my stay there. The rooms are reliable and comfortable. I appreciated the airport shuttle service that is coordinated for you too. The only negative was the bathroom on the 3rd floor was broken and... More

We stayed in a different Madrid hostel during our first week and the two could not have been more different. That one was like a pension, very nice and quiet but no shared community spaces. This is a real hostel. A wonderful woman prepares paella in the evening and sells plates for a pittance, group events occur daily. I'm 42... More

This hostel was quite good and the only negative thing I have to say about it was that it was extremely noisy....like little kids running up and down and halls and screaming. It is on a main street and there is also a lot of noise from outside (that they can't control.) The staff was very friendly and helpful. The... More

Great location and very near to the metro. We stayed in an all girls dorm and met lots of lovely people! Hostel offers day trips and evenings out which are well worth doing (especially Toledo trip and flamenco eve) :), but not as good as the paella which we were cooked for only 3 euros! Everyone was friendly and helpful,... More

I really enjoyed my stay here. The staff members were very friendly (and handsome)! The facility was very clean! The neighborhood is a little sketchy, but the metro is very near. It is also very close to Puerto de Sol. They offer a lot of tours and activities which are good for independent travelers. I'd stay here again!

We stayed at Las Musas for 1 week. The price is really good. We had clean rooms, the beds are very good. One room had an odd smell to it though that didn't go away even with open windows. We think it came from the bathroom. The water in my shower was either really hot or cold but the other... More

We stayed 4 nights and had a good experience. Harriet was our walking tour guide and was great! The wifi only works in the lobby area not our bedroom. Clean place and cool crowd of travelers. We did the pub crawl which was fun but I recommend pregaming or stashing a flask because you get one or two drinks/shots and... More

I travelled to Las Musas for my birthday with a small group of friends. We booked originally because of the cheap price and good location, and it kept getting better when we arrived!! The rooms were not huge, but perfectly adequate for what we needed, and were very clean. The staff were helpful and friendly, and took us out on... More

Staying in Lavapies

Neighbourhood Profile
Lavapies
Walking into this neighbourhood is like entering a different country ... except it's hard to tell which one it is. One side of Calle Lavapiés is lined with Indian restaurants, the other with kebab shops. Men in traditional African clothing convene outside their businesses for long chats, and people shout to each other across plazas and streets. Interspersed among ethnic specialty shops are independent theaters and dance studios, and two large arts and cultural centers — the beautiful Casa Encendida and the Tabacalera, a former tobacco factory — all of which attract young crowds. Along Calle Argumosa, the place to go for drinks, artists and art appreciators with piercings and dreadlocks convene in the street’s eclectic array of young, hip bars. Though some of the side streets can get a little seedy at night, Lavapiés is still the place to go for those seeking a unique blend of arts and culture in an international and funky neighbourhood.
