Such a disappointment. We booked a new bungalow for a couple of nights. As it wasn't clear from the long contract we contacted them directly to find out the check-in time. We were told that we could check into the bungalow anytime. When we arrived around 11am then told us we weren't allowed in until 5pm! When they finally allowed us into the bungalow it stank of sewers and chemicals. This continued throughout our stay and made us want to vomit. When we were about to leave we tried calling 7 times as it was a 1km wall to reception from our bungalow. There was no answer. It's very overpriced for a campsite you could get a goiiod hotel for the same price or less. The only good thing is the locaction BB g

Dear Family Thank you for sharing your opinion with us about your stay at our Camping, although this, for what you tell us, has not been entirely satisfactory. We regret the inconvenience caused by the bad smells of the bungalow, undoubtedly produced by the drains. As you well say are totally new bungalows, newly installed and it is possible that there was some small problem in the installation. As soon as we became aware of them, the problem was reviewed and corrected. As for the time of entry to the bungalow and as put in the conditions of reservation, it is indeed, at the latest, at 5 in the afternoon but we always try to make it before this time. However, as we always say at the time of booking, you can arrive at the campsite and check-in in the morning and if the bungalow is not available, you can spend the day at the campsite and enjoy our facilities. We apologize again for all the inconvenience that we may have caused and we hope we can compensate you if you decide to visit us another time. Cordially

Lovely open, friendly site and diametric opposite to some large sites. Staff are welcoming and friendly. Several different grades of pitch but ours was great being 2nd tier and no one in front to obstruct our sea view. Good access t hookup being 5-10A dependent on tariff. Excellent shower and washing up facilities and free WiFi across site. Easy cycle ride to Tarragona. Good place to stop.

Regular visitors here - as are many others. Beautiful beach cleaned daily right on the doorstep. Friendly staff. Trains at the back can be noisy but ok if you choose a pitch nearer the sea. Pity they close mid October.

Hi there, We stayed in the Las Palmeras for the first time and I have to say it was brilliant! It all started from the e-mails back and forward with Marina, who kindly provided us with one of the few remaining bungalows at the beach ("crab" part of the complex), though there was no availability via booking.com. Always pays to drop a quick e-mail to reception ;) Upon arrival, we've checked in very quickly with help of Magda, who was very helpful throughout the whole stay and the whole reception staff was very accommodating, from a printing of the boarding passes/tickets and providing advice to allowing us to stay extra couple hours on departure date. Bungalow given was spacious enough for 4 adults and 2 kids, as most of the time we spent at the beach 30 steps away from the door ;) that’s right only 30 steps. The beach maintained to the very high standard. Every morning from 6 am til 7 am I’ve seen tractor levelling the sand ground. Main residents, I would say at least 85%, were Spanish families with kids. Also a good few Germans and Belgians, but they stayed in fabulous caravans instead of bungalows. At the site, there were all standard facilities (shop, pool, sports grounds, restaurants, bike hire etc.) that kept to a very high standard in relation to cleanliness. Well done! Also, there is a big emphasis laid on landscaping, site cleaning and security. Because the direct access to the beach there was lad on the bike who was cycling in and out checking everything 24/7. There is a rail line next to the complex and lots of review complaining about it, however, we found it much less disturbing than the mosquitos! Please make sure to bring a repellent with you as these ones are silent ones, you literally don’t hear them. As of trains they just passing by at the very high speed with a bit of noise, but it’s nowhere near what other reviewers are saying. We have a 2 years old kid who slept through the night with no disturbance whatsoever. Tarragona town centre, which is in 7min drive is absolute gem. I’ve done some googling prior to arrival, but it was nowhere near as to what we experienced every evening. The variety of site seeing, the restaurants, local markets and the cost of it really surprised us. Thank you Las Palmeras, we would definitely come back next year!

Difficult to rate this site 'average' because in many aspects it is perfect. Decent pitches, great access to the beach, good sports area, good value shop for essentials, a good bar serving food. With a car I think it's a good base for days out if you want to get off the beach for a change. As we were in a campervan, we generally try not to drive once we get somewhere, so the downside for us was that we couldn't cycle from the site. We tried but the road was too dangerous for 10 year olds. Bus to Tarragona was frequent enough though and it has some nice squares with bars and restaurants around the cathedral and Roman ruins. Depending where you are pitched you could have a 20-30 min walk to the bus stop though. Doing a day trip to Barcelona is just about viable I guess, needing a bus or taxi to the train station and then a good hour on the train. We decided this was too much effort! The train noise is a shock at first but you can get used to them, just. Would suggest ear plugs! Try and get a pitch as close to the beach if you think this is going to be a problem. On the flip side, if it's windy you'll get the brunt of it by the beach. Probably wouldn't go back but glad we tried it and we still had a good time. This was also our first visit to a campsite on the Mediterranean coast so haven't got anything to compare it against. Did see other campsites along the coast and most are between the sea and train line so don't think you can get away from that issue!
