I stayed here in October 2013 and had a great experience and met some amazing people that I still keep in touch with. The hostel had a very fun inside bar and community center that helped encourage the community feel of the hostel. The hostel is small enough that you began to know everyone if you stayed for a few...

I ended up staying for a full week at this hostel; the staff were very friendly and helpful, the place felt safe and welcoming, and the bar/lounge area was excellent for meeting and chatting to people. The bedrooms and bathrooms were adequate - they didn't need to be more than that. The breakfast was not brilliant, but was included and...

It's not for families and it's not a luxury place... but I traveled there with some friends, we stayed in a 8 mixed bedroom and the experience was really good. It's a good value for money (17 EUR/night) and the location is excellent. For young travelers, it's very easy to meet new people and the hostel is really close to...

Me and my friend took 4 nights in this hostel and there were no noise from the streets or other guests. We had the en-suite room for two and the room was clean. Breakfast was simple, but good considering the budget price range. The coffee was thankfully not instant coffee and there were some options there. Staff was friendly and...

What i can say about this hostel is that it has a good location. The front desk staffs are friendly. The room is okay. I slept in a 4 mixed bedroom place and its not bunk beds. Comfort likewise not the best. The bathroom is not that clean, the matress is a bit hard. Gave me a bit of backache...

This is a great hostel! If I'm ever back in Barcelona HelloBCN will be my first choice. Great service, clean rooms and comfortable beds. Close to supermarkets, metro and Montjuïc. Also, breakfast is provided, as are maps and tourist guides, and guests at the hostel are given discounts to local businesses. My friends and I really enjoyed our stay here,...

What a disappointment!! The worst check-in and service ever seen!! Luckily this type of hostel it's not worth a visit again and the old bold man working there should think of retirement or change job! Hostels are made for young people by young mind set people!! There are no words to describe what has appended! I have recommended this option...

Firm mattresses. Bright fresh place. Location is great, El Poble-sec has proper night & cafe culture. The Castle is up the hill & the mischievous Raval is down !. Moments from the port! Rooms some en-suite are airy & street outside is quiet .. fitness room & a nice lounge space to meet greet & relax !

I've stayed in this hostel twice for 2 days in 2010 and 2012. I must say that it was my first choice even in my second travel to Barcelona. As a traveller with strict budget, I was very pleased with both of my stays. The location of the hostel is easy to find. The prices are great.

Staying in Montjuic

Neighbourhood Profile
Montjuic
Beyond the four columns standing guard at the Plaça Espanya, beyond even the extravagant and colourful fountains guiding your way up the boulevard, stands the impressive and towering structure of the Palau Nacional, the national museum. At this very spot in front of the cascades of the central fountain, Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballe gave the performance of their lifetimes to welcome the 1992 Olympic Games to this magnificent city. And true to its anticipation, the games transformed the city, reimagining the mountain of Montjuic with the development of an arena, stadium, and many other sporting facilities that are open to visitors year-round. Surrounding the adjacent side of the plaza are well-established hotels catering to business guests and a shopping mall transformed out of a historic bullfighting arena.
