towel got stained, the room was very dark. but good location and service was ok. If you are only looking for something cheap and good location this hotel is alright.

It's a good location. Ten minutes walk from the main square. However, although we booked (and paid) for four nights we stayed just one. The room was claustrophobic and small and the double mattress had seen better days (probably about twenty years ago). The hostal is probably clean but everything is so old and battered that it doesn't give that...

Stayed here in September 2011 and again last weekend of May 2012. We will definitely be back! The location is perfect, only a short stroll to Las Ramblas and Placa de Catalunya. The rooms are spacious and comfortable and the staff are more than helpful, from the moment we arrived they were courteous and polite and extremely helpful. They even...

Basic ok and fine location. No luxury and a lot off noice from the street. Bed with a low standard. Related to the price the standard was as expected. The staff was friendly and met my expectations. Wifi works but at low speed.

Our rate was good, so for us Agua Alegre was an average 'you get what you paid for' deal. Our room was spacious, but only very basically furnished and NOT clean whatsoever. Uncomfortable and old beds. Location: Sagrada Familia is a 20-minute walk, Placa Catalunya is 12 minutes by foot. The neighbouring streets are full of tapas restaurants and pubs.

Easily the worst hotel I have ever stayed in....not cheap either at 80euros per night. would have left but didn,t fancy chances of a refund. If you want cracked mirrors, dirty floors and dirty bedspreads...look no further. Double bedroom had bed and one old wardrobe, and that was about it....whole room lit by two tiny wall lights. The whole hostel...

Staying in Eixample

Neighbourhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
