Amazing youth hostel in center of downtown Barcelona. Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms and bathrooms were very clean. Nice kitchen. You can walk to main attractions, nice restaurants and shops. It's walking distance to the Barcelona beach. Highly recommended!

Staying at Alternative was a great experience! The hostel is cozy and not too big. The rooms are nice and tidy and the other guests were really quite. It is definitely worth checking out when planning a trip to Barcelona. I would definitely stay here again!

I had a great time staying at Alternative. The place is very safe, they have people at reception 24/7, so I wouldn't have any problems getting in and out. It is also located at the heart of Barcelona, so I rarely had to get any transportation to get around the city. I really enjoyed my stay here and I would...

I stayed at alternative creative hostel for five day in September 2015. I felt quite at home and was able to do some meditation and yoga and some artwork (collage) and cooked dinner several times with some other guests at the hostel.

It's quite a special place run by friendly, helpful people. I had booked one night and ended up staying an entire week. There are many restaurants near-by and the hostel has a deal with some of them to give discount to their guests. The hostel is small and you therefore easily get in touch with other travelers. The location is...

The hostel was clean and otherwise good but some of the other guests were super noisy during the night time and the staff did nothing to prevent the noise. The staff were all foreigners and some of them had no glue about the tourist attractions (i.e. tours to wine yards). There were lots of hidden extra costs, for example cost...

There are many hostels I have visited and I must say that ACYH is all a traveller ever needs! Lovely and helpful staff, great atmosphere inside and all required facilities. It's not a huge sleeping place like thousands around, I felt like at home there! Also, the place design makes it easy to meet other guests. Apart from that, the...

Staying in Eixample

Neighbourhood Profile
Eixample
Passing through the glorious Plaça Catalunya, you enter the newer city district of Eixample, literally translated as “extension,” which immediately becomes recognisable by its more spacious streets and elegant atmosphere. The main artery of this sizable district, Passeig de Gracia, is lined with high-end international designer stores. Not to be outdone, the glitz and glamour of this zone is perhaps best exemplified by the comfortable and lavish five-star hotels that flank the divine and modernistic buildings from some of the world’s most recognised architects such as Gaudi and Montaner.
