My friend and I stayed at this hotel in late March. The location is ideal and you can walk out straight on to La Ramblas - you are also only a quick walk from the Gothic quarter and can easily walk to the beach. Added perks were the delicious breakfast, free wi-fi and the complimentary cave. The hotel itself was...

My partner and I have just returned from a 3 night stay in Barcelona. The Hostel Mare is in a perfect location, half way down La Ramblas. Easy accessible from the Plaza if you travel by bus, there is also a metro station outside. There are a few stairs coming off the street but there is a lift to access...

Just arrived back from 4 days staying in the Hostal Mare Nostrum, group of 6 adults. Really enjoyed the trip. Ideal central location on La Rambla. Hostal rooms are small but very clean, comfortable and secure. Breakfast excellent and available from 8 - 11 am. Staff extremely helpful and friendly. Would definitely stay again at Mare Nostrum.

We stayed here as a couple for our trip to Barcelona and it was the best location. It's literally on la ramblas half way down so you are right in the middle of all the action, only a 5/10min stroll to the port. They have a lift, breakfast room, reception area, public computer, free wifi and balconies. They provide soap...

Well well, you are in Barcelona, and you should spend as much time outside enjoying the city instead of sitting in the room - that is the message of the rooms in this hotel. In the middle of Rambla - very nice. Just come back to the room, close your eyes, and sleep. There are no decorations in the room,...

This was my partner and I's fourth trip to Barcelona and our first stay at the Hostal mare nostrum. The location is the best part about this place. Having stayed in 2 other Hostal's and an apartment previously I would say this suited a short weekend stay. We had a little balcony looking down la rambla which was great and...

The position is perfect, on Las ramblas next to liceu metro stop.the room was small, but had everything you needed and was very clean. Breakfast was a good buffet with a wonderful view over the street. In conclusion, very good clean small room, and for sixty euro per night, a bargain!

I will definitely stay at Mare Nostrum if I ever visit Barcelona again. I stayed on the fourth floor and from my window I could see Las Ramblas. The area is noisy but with my window closed the noise was barely audible. Great restaurants, pharmacies, small coffee shops and all kinds of stores and La Boqueria, our favorite place for...

The location is perfect for exploring Barcelona, you can walk to most everywhere you want to go and public transit is nearby. The reception was friendly and helpful, calling...

Staying in La Rambla

Neighbourhood Profile
La Rambla
Barcelona's most famous street was once a dry riverbed. Now, La Rambla is a 1200-metre boulevard, and a major draw for visitors. During the day, La Rambla fills with pedestrians, some of which stroll past impressive human statues and artists while others take a break to people-watch while enjoying a drink at one of the many terraces. Housed here is the iconic Boqueria Market that offers one of the most varied and appetising selections of local produce and specialty meats and treats. While it’s important for tourists to keep an eye on their belongings at all times, this area is most safely explored in the daytime and is a must see for everyone who visits.
