Right on the beach, 10 mins from the metro (or if you like to walk you can do so into town). The rooms are narrow, the bunk beds actually hurt to climb, don't expect good levels of hygiene (it can be variable). If you are good to the staff they will be good to you - very friendly and informative....

My friend and I spent only 2 nights there. The place is perfect if you come for the beach. It's a bit far from the city centre but you can reach a nearby metro station in 10 mins walking. Everything is perfect except the people who work in the hostel. They are not that friendly (not like the other hostels...

When we arrived there was rubbish throughout our room that didn't belong to anyone staying there. This wasn't removed throughout our stay despite every other guest leaving. In the end I through it out. (We're talking dirty razors left on the sink, half used shaving creams) Gross. Sheets were dirty and had stains on them. The bathroom was super dirty...

Stayed here for three nights. All the rooms on the floor we stayed at seemed to be connected via an opening in the roof, so there is never a quiet moment, you either hear noise from the other rooms or from outside. The walls are paperthin. We caught someone cleaning our room one day, but I can't say they were...

I've just come back from a wonderful stay at Equity Point hostel. My friend and I booked 2 nights in a 9-bed female dorm. We arrived with low expectations, as the reviews were mixed. But we are easy-going people, so we had nothing to worry about. All we wanted was to be close to the beach and hope that the...

We booked a 7 share but didnt realise all the rooms are basically connected by holes up near the ceiling making it super noisey. Dirty facilities and having no curfew means no sleep. Good location is the only reason this isnt one star.

Me and a group of friends came here to have an enjoyable time. The location of this hostel is great as it is located right on the beach. My complaint though is that it is not a spot to go if you are looking for fun. We were continuously told to be quiet, which was odd because we were talking...

The location is great, the dorms are ok for the price, but no locks on the lockers. Unfortunately the staff was never really able to help us with our questions about transportation and sightseeing, they were friendly enough, though a few seemed a bit unmotivated. The breakfast was poor, you can fill up on it if you like a very...

Room was very hot, and we found difficulty sleeping due to excessive outside noise as well as noise inside the hostel. No real common area/bar to meet and interact with others. Also, you must pay for towels and even bed sheets. We felt like we were nickel-and-dimed for everything. You definitely get what you pay for at this place (and...

This hostel was extremely convenient as far as access to the beach and the main streets. Fairly close to the metro as well if you would like to travel around the city easily. Only complaint at all is that hostel would remain quite hot often.

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighbourhood Profile
Barceloneta
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
