Given how much character Barcelona has, and especially the Gothic Quarter, it is slightly disappointing that this boutique hotel does not fully seize the opportunity to display a little more flavour of the city, one way or another, but is really a little generic. It is however clean and has good service.

The hotel is smack dab in the middle of the Gothic Quarter. It's a very short walk from the Barcelona Cathedral, the Picasso Museum, and an awesome city park. The staff was super helpful and as a bonus, it's surrounded by places to grab tapas. Word to the wise: It's a little hard to see when you arrive, so make...

We only had one night, unfortunately, but this was the perfect place to spend it. Very roomy, well-appointed, complimentary bottled water. Very accommodating staff. We had to catch our flight before breakfast opened, so the hotel offered to bring complimentary coffee and fruit to our room at a time convenient to us. As well, since we had been on a...

The location was ideal, the breakfast was excellent, and our suite was spacious and attractive. Unfortunately, the air conditioner was not very powerful and had a tendency to shut itself off in the middle of the night; meaning that we didn't get the best sleep in August. The design of the bathroom was also rather odd. Overall, the vibe was...

This place was awesome! We loved it since the moment we walked in. Very spacious, the location is great a lot of stores at walking distance, close to the Metro. Very clean, and the decoration was great. We stayed for a day and they were very kind to hold our bags while we ventured to the city before the room...

Nice hotel, we got a 2 bedroom it was very clean, beds were comfy. Small kitchen was convenient but we were there long enough to us. The breakfast in the morning was also very good. Down sides - it was a little noisy we were on the 3rd floor and could here a small child run loudly a lot and...

This hotel is in the middle of the historic Gothic area. It was a bit hard to find and the streets were a bit narrow, but it has plenty of charm. We stayed here at the end of July a family of five. The hotel itself is very nice, the rooms spotless, the staff was amazing. Everyone was very friendly,...

We stayed in one of the loft rooms for 3 nights with our teenage son and it was excellent. Loads of space, with a separate bedroom for our son. Very quiet considering where it is - also only a 1-minute walk to the metro. Good breakfast in a lovely room......in fact the whole building is beautiful. Slight minus points are...

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighbourhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighbourhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
