We were staying at the hotel 11 days. (Vocation with family).Location is perfect! We just love it! Close to the beach area and so many cozy restaurants around. The hotel is good, not more then this. The rum is really small, beds are not so comfortable to sleep ( once again for 11 days) but cleaning is perfect whenever you need! No view from the rum at all and sometimes noisy , because of construction works outside that can wake you up at 7 am. WF -NOT FREE! That was strange! GREAT STAFF , that makes this place and atmosphere warmer! They will help you with everything! They do always extra even if you ask for a small thing! No doubt ! Special thanks to Bernary, you were so attentive and helpful! You are all guys do great job!!! Good luck with everything you do! Regards, Irina…
Location is excellent for access to the beach, only around a 10 min walk. There are many restaurants and bars just adjacent on a promenade. Metro stop is a few mins walk also which is good. In terms of the hotel itself you have to base your expectations on what you are paying and the hotel being a Travelodge. Personally I feel the value was good. We paid around £40 a night with breakfast so were happy with that. The room itself is average sized, enough room for two people with bags. Agree with other review that a lack of furniture is acute. The room feels bare and a small investment in a bit more would help lift it. There is a wall rack for hanging clothes and a chair/ desk but that is literally it. Bathroom is small but functional. Shower was a little cramped however. The room did feel clean and well serviced so we were happy with that. Breakfast was table service owing to Covid but had a reasonable selection of pastries, cereal, juice etc. At the weekend they served hot food but not during the week. Our only real gripe was that the bed was super uncomfortable. It felt very old and had no real support to it. The mattress was literally resting on a iron frame so not the best even for a budget hotel. The only other issue I encountered was a very busy reception. Not sure if it was due to the Covid but there was often minimal staff and at times was very hard to speak to someone. The lobby was also very hot and did not seem to have any a/c. Overall if you are looking at a no frills budget option I would recommend.…
I decided to stay at this Travelodge based on my good experience of their hotel in Fira, also in Barcelona. Originally I had planned to stay in the MotelOne but decided that for a saving of £30 a night, it was worth it. The Welcome, I arrived at the hotel around 2 hours before check in as I was tired from travelling. I was prepared to pay an early check in fee, however the wonderful receptionist didn’t charge me for it, even when I asked. She initially told me that there wasn’t any rooms ready, but without prompting or hesitation she was on the radio to housekeeping to see if they could accommodate me, to which they did. Excellent! The Room, On entering the room, I found myself a bit disappointed at first with how basic it was. Even though travelodge is basic, I found this one to be more so. There was lots of space in the room but no storage apart from a couple of hangers on the wall. It felt unfinished, like the designer had plonked a bed and a desk in a room and said Whalah! The window was small and had a plastic curtain, it certainly had the prison cell realness feel to it. It was however quiet, even with the busy road next to it. The bathroom was a nice size and was immaculate in cleanliness. The Hotel in general This hotel is neatly laid out and everything is quickly accessible. The restaurant is located next to the reception area and serves a small selection of hot food throughout the day, it also has a bar. There are vending machines that stock drinks, sandwiches, confectionery and travel essentials such as toiletries. The reception also stock some essential toiletries too, I needed a shaving razor, and although they didn’t have it in stock at the time, they also said they had things like shaving gel, shower gel and shampoo for those caught without. The Food I purchased breakfast for my stay but only managed to have some on one day as the other day I had to leave very early in the morning. The food was satisfactory and is a mix of continental and hot food items such as sausages, bacon and the like. It tasted good, but lacked a certain standard, but what else are you going to expect from a budget hotel? I was a little disappointed that on the occasion I stayed, they didn’t have orange juice, instead they had pineapple juice in the orange juice dispenser without anything to say as such bluergh! I would be happy to return to Traveodge Poblenou, it was a nice cheap and cheerful hotel. Their Fira location is of a better quality as it’s a smaller more closely run hotel, although it is a distance from Barcelona centre. So the location of this travelodge makes it a good compromise. A little bit of advice, if arriving by metro, get off at L4 Lacuna as it’s closer than Poblenou station.…
We spent a night in the hotel prior to catching a train next morning. Th circumstances were bit unusual is it was just before the Coronavirus restrictions came in to force - the hotel was closing next day. The receptionist was very helpful and provided lots of useful information about the current situation He managed to rustle up dinner and breakfast, despite limited availability of potions. As always with Travelodge, the room was immaculate and comfortable.
So like many people from the UK I’m accustomed to a Travelodge and whilst you know what you’re getting this place is definitely not it. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The rooms go beyond basic. Essentially you get 1. Bed - not firm and every time my partner moved or turned over i was disturbed and vice versa. And you get one pillow each. Staff will send another one if you ask 2. Small table 3. Plastic uncomfortable chair - just the one. 4. A hanging rail - no wardrobe. 5. A small shower tray with horrors of horrors a plastic curtain that has the propensity to stick to you should you move in the shower. The shower is under pressurised. 6. 1 mid sized towel to dry with and one hand towel. No bath mat - so step out the shower onto the gritty feeling undoubtedly not clean for washed feet floor. What was missing at this Travelodge to others 1. A drawer to put things in 2. A bath mat 3. A hairdryer - you have to pay €10 as a deposit for a very impotent one at that. 4. A coat hook in the room 5. Tea and coffee making facilities 6. There is no free Wi-Fi in the room they change over €3 a day! Better to stick with a mobile phone bolt on or sit in the lobby where it’s free! Breakfast isn’t always included and for €9 you can have the one supplied. It is ok bit nothing to write home about. Better off taking a stroll around the neighbourhood to one of the cafes and enjoy a glorious pastry or bread. Be careful of rooms numbered evenly as these are on the side of the terrace area for the breakfast buffet or for those who take advantage of the food options offered by the hotel. That may sound nice but when you don’t smoke and you open a window for some fresh air and the room ends up smelling of musty ashtrays you may change your opinion. The room purports to have air con so long as you want to be in a room at a minim of 19 degrees c. For those who get hot you’re in for an uncomfortable night! The location of this place is ok. It’s way form the hustle and bustle of the city which is only a few stops away on the metro. This is a couple of streets away. A bus stop is just outside the hotel with a regular service. There’re area variety of restaurants near by and plenty of supermarkets and cafes, bakery’s and fruit shops. There is a gentle and welcoming vibe to the area. …
