We booked to go to Barcelona only a few weeks ago so most of the bargains were gone. Having said that it was a great hotel, helpful English speaking staff, clean comfortable rooms with a lovely bathroom. Situated next to Placa de Catalunya its got Metro stations and Bus stops for getting about, bars and restaurants nearby and its on...

This is our second stay at The Hotel Pulitzer in Barcelona (the first time was in Feb 2009). Needless to say, we were as pleased with our second stay as we were on our first, 2 years ago. The hotel is very modern and chic, the rooms have all the amenities a traveler require for a relaxing holiday or a...

We were visiting our son who is spending a semester in Barcelona. He helped pick out this hotel and actually couldn't believe such a nice hotel in a perfect location was so reasonable. We had a wonderful stay.

My wife and I stayed here in March 2011 for three nights. We found this to be a well run hotel and our stay very comfortable. The décor had a lovely modern, eclectic feel with large mirrors & artwork everywhere. The staff were very attentive and we particularly enjoyed the tapas breakfast. Someone recommended the hotel to us and we...

WOW- this was our favorite hotel in Spain- close to the main drag and very clean/modern inside. Just a few steps from the subway and many stores. Would definitely stay here again.

Recommended by Lufthansa homepage due its perfect location, we booked a city vacation for 3 nights in Barcelona at the Pulitzer Hotel. A month before we asked for (really) separated beds (via email and via phone), which was confirmed via phone by the hotel. When arrived we had a double bed (space less than 5cm) and after asked for a...

I've regularly used Tripadvisor for 5 years now and unfortunately this is my first negative post. I emailed the hotel several weeks in advance asking for a room with a view for our belated honeymoon. I appreciate this is not always possible but we were giving them 5 nights of business and the hotel did not appear too busy. Anyway,...

Arrived last Friday at 12pm with my boyfriend and was relieved to be able to check in early however we were told there were no double rooms available?! Trying to get over the fact we were going to sleep in single beds for the weekend we then contended with a room so narrow it felt like we were sleeping in...

Having visited Barcelona before and aware that a lot of hotels close to La Ramblas, and particularly around the Gothic quarter, could be very noisy throughout the night, we wanted a hotel that was located conveniently, of a high standard, not massively expensive and QUIET at bedtime. This hotel ticked all our boxes; it is perfectly located off Placa de...

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
