It's a nice hostel and you get what you pay for. The best thing is that its located near La Rambla, a metro station, the Boquería market, etc. You can walk from there to many on Barcelona's attractions. People at the front desk are really nice. Breakfast is ok, and rooms are a little too crowded compared to other hostels,...

Facilities are tight but our experience was one of a clean hostel with great location- walking distance from everywhere and walking or bike are the only way to get around there. Pub crawl wasn't great but we were off season and had our own group... probably better if we were alone.

The four of us stayed in this Hostel for 2 nights along the way trough France and Spain this late summer. The location of this hostel is excellent, just near by all the live at La Rambla street and not far from all the highlights of the city. The sea side is within an easy reach, it takes like 5...

Stayed here alone for one night in a 10 bed dorm. The hostel was clean and had an open plan lounge area so it was very social. There are free walking tours and a 12-euro pub crawl which are both great ways to meet others travelling, definitely recommended if you're travelling alone, even if the latter was a bit pricey...

My brother and I stayed here 2 months ago while visiting Barcelona. It was easy to get to if you take the aerobus to the plaza de catalunya then walk or take the metro to paral*lel. It is a bit difficult to find at night since it is on a mostly pedestrian street and has no sign indicating you are...

Visited with a friend recently in an 8 bed dorm, had no problems with the hostel. Was clean and staff were helpful. Only annoying thing was showers didn't have a space within the cubicle to place your things. Lockers and hostel were very secure, was told not an amazing area but never felt unsafe in the streets and having added...

I shared a 10 person room with 8 of my friends and 2 others. The accommodation was basic but comfortable enough, although it was cramped at times. Facilities including the bathrooms were okay, but could have been cleaner. However, the location was very central and close to all nightlife and the atmosphere was fun and social. There was a lot...

The room I'm staying at is hot as a sauna because the air conditioning is broken for 3 nights already. The front desk staff can't find a solution for that and we keep sleeping and sweating every night. Barcelona is already hot and our bedroom is even hotter!!! And more: I have booked a 8 bed dorm and they put...

Be Mar was a great place to stay in Barcelona. The rooms were clean and tidy and a huge locker allocated to each bed to lock your belongings so very secure. Clearly a dodgy area of Barcelona but come and go quickly and no probs. Staff make this hostel fab, great breakfast also. barcelona has huge pickpocketing issues so watch...

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
