We was given this hotel by the agency through which we booked the holiday (flight and hotel) and we didn't know exactly what to expect. Once we arrived we had the feeling that it is not exactly the dream hotel and the reception was not really friendly but after we been accomodated we realised it was a great choice. Room...

Hotel is good value for money £200 for 5 nights double room. Only thing didn't like is that is very loud outside till late as there is a square. Also the maids looked liked they made noise early morning so we can leave the room and the clean and finish early. Nice and clean room and nice shower You have...

If you want luxury, don't come here, but if you want somewhere basic, clean, and close (10 min. walk) to the centre with underground connections to many of the Gaudi attractions, it's ideal. The rooms are comfortable enough, with a small bathroom or shower room, though the neighbours can be noisy (well, it was New Year). They have family rooms...

I understand that this is a budget hotel; but the standard is extremely low! As a couple we were put in a small room where two twin beds were joint together and the beds kept separating from one another so essentially we slept on two separate beds. The room overall was very tacky, it did not look dirty but when...

Very central and good to get to the ramblas. Room very basic we were on the 6th floor lift only to the 5th so had to take my case up one flight of stairs. Room comfortable enough but not soundproof could hear everything in next room. Not the best when you are trying to sleep. It's a great pit stop...

This hotel is really well situated for exploring the city and there are loads of restaurants close by. The room and bathroom were very clean, staff friendly and helpful, breakfast is toast and croissant with butter and jam, coffee/tea and orange juice, plenty. I think too many people are judging this as more than a 1 star hotel, my experience...

Good location. But the room we stay in needs investment. Damp mouldy bathroom door. Short shower curtains meant that the bathroom was quite slippery. Breakfast was what you expect as previous reviewers. Unrealiable wifi Would only stay again if room was to a budget standard

Good Most comfy hotel bed I ever slept on Location to La Ramblas is very good Price! Staff friendly and helpful. Bad Shower was poor - can assume comparison to being wee'd on by a horse (and probably less warm!) Safe is expensive - Cost of safe could exceed the value you store in it :) Breakfast is very average,...

Do not waste your money here. Arrived at 8 am from a cruise ship as lots of tourists in Barcelona, so no control of our arrival time. We were told to pay to put our luggage in lockers of which there are about 35. We were told our room would be ready at 10 am. We waited until after 11:30,...

Initially, not impressed with the neighbourhood! The room we were given on arrival, was very basic with no clothes hanging facilities, very basic,(but clean). On request they changed our room without any problem. We slept there for one night but found it lacking ,but, again the staff at reception upgraded us to a triple room,(we had originally asked for at...

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
