Lovely new apartment block which definitely feels more like a private residence than a holiday flat. Great area away from the centre but easily accessible. Laid back neighbourhood with great restaurants and bars with a more local feel than in the touristy areas around the old town. Only drawback was kitchen had very few cooking utensils, all of which were...

I had a very strict budget limitation when I was looking for an apartment for our stay in Barcelona. So I was not in a position to expect something extraordinarily good. Well, guess what - it was that good ! The office we were supposed to take the keys from is on a strategic spot near Placa Catalunya, very easy...

When we arrived in Barcelona, late and a little lost we were happy to find that the main office of Old Town Apartments was a short 5 to 10 minute taxi ride away from the central bus station. Though it was late the staff receiving us was welcoming and very helpful; we received good tips on where to go, how...

The Old Town Apartments are excellent. We chose to stay with them based on previous stays (Krakow and Berlin) but especially because the photos of the brand new kitchen were just too inviting to turn down. For 3 of us, 8 nights, it was far more economical, and we felt that it would be more homely than a hotel. And...

Great location. Really confortable. Increadibly quiet. The best choice to visit Barcelona on your own. Definitely will book again next time round.

We (a group of 7 with two children) stayed in two of the Villaroel apartments. The distance from the Ramblas is about 15-20 minutes walk and the apartments were very good, clean and equipped with all kinds of dishes, cutlery, so we were able to prepare breakfast and everything. I am mostly satisfied with the service I received during the...

The apartment was clean and vey comforatable. It is surprisingly large and very cool. There is a lovely terrace looking out over the rooftops - perfect for a late afternoon drink. It is within easy walking distance from all the shops, the best sights etc. and we loved it! The staff were very helpful at the office and we were...

We stayed in apartment “Borne Santa Maria” literally across from the Santa Maria del Mar (certainly one of the most beautiful churches in Barcelona). The apartment is also within baby monitor reach of the square in front of the church, which offers a choice of 3 or 4 cafes and restaurants with outside terraces. This is a great area in...

We booked 2 apartments in the same building, at Carrere de Pere Serafi(I hope I'm not misspeled the street). We were 8 people and we split in 4 people at apartment. The apartments were clean, well equiped. The location in my opinion was great with shops nearby from where we buy groceries. The sleep was great, the noi from outside...

Staying in Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)

Neighbourhood Profile
Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighbourhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.

“To avoid surprises, contact the staff of this agency via skype during Barcelona's office hours... ask all the questions you want. and you can verify in the google map, where your apartment is really located. The published address of this agency is just its main office. They maintain a number of apartments scattered throughout that area.”
