Very nice staff. Excellent location, right next to Las Ramblas. Very clean and modern new rooms. We actually received complimentary upgrades to bigger rooms upon checkin. No complaints whatsoever! Very lovely stay.

Loved this hotel, perfect location, short distance to key sites and easy access to the metro. Staff were friendly and more than happy to help at all times! I literally have nothing negative to say about it, I notice some reviews saying that the street outside was loud which we didn't notice at all...probably because of the unbelievably comfortable beds...

Traveled with our elderly parents. Booked two rooms for four nights. Greeted by lovely, inviting, friendly staff who answered our numerous questions throughout our stay. Found the rooms to be bright, very clean with a feeling of freshness. Comfortable beds with nice long pillows and handy reading lamps. My parents enjoyed the lounge areas for an afternoon rest and reading...

We stayed at the Hostal Grau in Barcelona for 4 nights . As soon as we entered our room we knew we'd picked the right place to stay . Every thing in the room appeared upcycled , which makes good use of old mirrors and lights . The mattress was amazing, if you want a good nights sleep in an...

The location was perfect for exploring Barcelona. We thought the family room was amazing... very large with a bedroom, living area, small kitchen, and one bathroom. 4 people stayed very comfortably. Beds were amazingly comfortable. Nice staff who were very helpful. The morning cake was nice. There are many locations nearby to enjoy baked goods, tapas, or wine. One major...

On our way back home yesterday I talked to my husband and asked him what his top three memories of our trip to Spain were. My personal top three: Our guided visit to Sagrada Familia, hiking in Montserrat - and our stay at Hostal Grau. The young woman who welcomed us there at the reception and who was there most...

The staff are all really friendly and nothing was too much bother for them! It is very central just ofF La Ramblas within walking distance to the metro, bars, restaurants...

Clean room, friendly and helpful staff. Only a minute or two from the busy Ramblas, but on a quaint street. Close to good supermarket, which is handy when you want a low-cost meal. Very close to subway stations.

An absolutely delightful, intimate establishment (with an eco feel )situated just off Las Ramblas and Catalunya metro ( L1 Red ). Lovely, considerate, staff awaits you ( along with a glass of wine and a slice of cake!). The room was clean and quiet with tea/coffee/fridge facilities. No breakfast available. However, Hostal Grau is literally surrounded by restaurants/cafes etc, to...

On arrival nothing but a warm welcome. This small hotel is located in the center of everything. We walked from every site you need to go or there is the metro a short distance away. We went to the boqueria market every morning for breakfast for fresh juice and fruit or pasties which is a 5 min walk. The room...

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
