So the positive is the location in the Gothic area but that is about it. Rooms are horrible, at least the one i stayed in. Internal, no windows, smelt damp, noisy motor sound all the time- i assume some kind of generator. Breakfast was average at best. Love Barcelona just not this hotel. Stay elsewhere

We stayed here on 2 occasions. The first visit we had small rooms which didn't suit our large suitcases but I had a huge bath which I loved. The 2nd visit we were upgraded to large rooms with balconies on the 8th floor. I had a view of the Cathedral. Rooms have tea and coffee making facilities. Sleep quality was...

Nice hotel, does not offer to many comforts, the mini bar is not variated (water). The good point is that the location is excellent. Steps across the El Gotic, the Barcelona Cathedral and and metro station. It has a fitness center wifi connection. The staff is also very nice

Absolutely no complaints about the hotel. We never ate here just slept. Hotel was very clean and room was cleaned every day. Free decent speed wifi. Cable TV only had 2 English speaking channels, one was CNN, which is very, very repetitive. 4 small bottles of water in fridge every day, beds made and were very comfy and clean. Bathroom...

This hotel could be great. Good value, good breakfast, perfect location, nice staff. We had a suite and although very spacious and impressive (with an incredible bathroom!), it was in desperate need of redecoration. Nonetheless, I would come back here for sure.

Excellent service and excellent location. great restaurants and attractions near by. Room and beds the best after a long flight. includes a small fridge and a coffee maker. Private bath with hot water . Small elevator only fits 4 but serves its purpose.

This Hotel is very central and great for sightseeing. Close to Placa de catalunya, and extremely close to Barcelona Cathedral. The room itself was okay, but was very warm as the air-con seemed to just blow out warmish air. The view from the window was none existent, just looking into other people apartments, meaning opening the window felt quite intrusive...

The Ilunion Almirante is located near to the cathedrale. Next metro station (Jaume I) about 5 min by feet. At check in you have to insist on a room to the front/road. Otherwise its possible to get a room were there is no daylight. Breakfast contains instant coffee and simple continental/english. For that price you better move for breakfast to...

Myself and two friends have just returned from a Barcelona city break. We stayed at Ilunion hotel for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hotel was located right near the Cathedral of Barcelona. It was a 5 minute walk to Las Ramblas and was right near to high street shopping. The Harbor was roughly a 7 minute walk....

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighbourhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighbourhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
