I stayed here 2 weeks ago. The staff were very welcoming. I had a single room which was clean and comfortable. My room had no outside window, which seemed a bit odd for the first morning but there was a small window open to the corridor. This meant there was no noise from the outside, very peaceful. The bed was...

The breakfast was good, a typical Spain breakfast. The location is near a lot of restaurants. We only needed it for one night because we were leaving the next day on a cruise. WiFi was so unreliable, which sounds like a first world problem, but not easy to deal with when you are trying to contact family to let them...

The hotel is fit for family of 4 like us. The very best thing is location which is within arm reach for the most of the amenities. Everywhere is in easy reach even Metro and bus but it's a boisterous area so beware and to be a street smart tourist. Room was cleaned with four comfy single beds, old but...

Great location. Interesting hotel with a patina close to La Rambla, MareMagnum commercial centre and Placa the Catalunya. We had a large room. No TV, but there is a good WiFi signal even in the room. Breakfast is simple but OK.

We had a perfect stay in this hotel in the city center of Barcelona, near las Ramblas. The whole staff was very welcoming and thoughtful ! The price we had was quite reasonable and the breakfast was good. The lovely atrium was very appreciable to rest.

Just returned from a city break to Barcelona. This was booked as a budget hotel. It was good for the price. The room we stayed in was in the attic of the hotel. Bed was comfortable. Plenty of hot water. The walls are a little thin and you hear everything from the other rooms. Breakfast included was continental style but...

It's a nice hotel and staff is really great. The breakfast is included and pretty good. The location is great, 100m from Las Ramblas and 10 mintues walking from Barceloneta. If you want to discover the city it's the perfect location.

The four-story indoor plaza in this hotel is very attractive, but, unfortunately, it also allows noise to carry. The shower in my room (107) could not be used without flooding the bathroom, as there was apparently a door missing. And there are no electric outlets near the bed. Also, although there is an elevator, it is several steps up from...

Checked out of Hotel Peninsular yesterday and I miss it already. All the staff were friendly and very helpful. The bedrooms and relatively spacious bathrooms, were cleaned daily. The food was simple, quick and.....good. Not much variety, though. A few friends and I have dairy allergies. By our second day there, soy milk was provided for us to have with...

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
