The location is wonderful, so close to the metro, restaurants, bars and sights. The hotel itself is a little shabby, but okay. The breakfast was good and plentiful. The beds were extremely hard and the walls thin, so one should take that into account. The staff would rarely say anything more than "hello" on a given day and were not...

I stayed overnight for work purposes in January 2014. The hotel is a 10 minute walk to the port which was perfect as that's where I was working. The staff are friendly. The hotel itself is clean and the room was very nice, spacious and clean. Seems to be more of a business type hotel but I would happily stay...

I stayed here at the beginning of February and was very pleased with the location. Unfortunately the hotel was undergoing renovations during my stay, and was extremely loud all throughout the day. The beds are uncomfortable, as are the pillows, the English language channels on the tv didn't work for the entire duration of our stay. When informed of several...

A well located hotel. Rooms were clean and comfortable with good Wifi in the room and free! I only stayed for one night so couldn't take advantage of any of its facilities. Breakfast was disappointing. Self service, disgusting coffee from a dispenser, minimal staff and frankly quite a sad breakfast. Shame really, this is one of the reasons why more...

This hotel is in a great location for the beach, Parc de la Cuitadella, Gothic area, walking and links to almost everywhere else. Easy to get to and from the airport since it is opposite the railway station (you have to change stations, but the wait is only 3 minutes and on the same platform). The rooms are small (which...

Really enjoyed the hotel, its amenities, the closeness to walking all around Baecelona. Nice & close to La Rambla. Loved the electronic awnings you could bring down at night for absolute darkness and buffering of noise. Cocktail bar was also very nice and sleek. Definately would stay there again.

We were recommended this hotel and we booked a superior room which had a big balcony overlooking the big main street. The room itself was great, trendy and had everything in. If you're going in cooler months ask for extra blankets and pillows when you check in. A little bit noisy from the street outside but slept right through. All...

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighbourhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighbourhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
ARCHITECTURE, DESIGN AND COMFORT IN THE MOST EXCITING HAPPENING AREA OF BARCELONA Park Hotel is a 3-star historic hotel located in one of the most emblematic quarters of Barcelona, el Born. The quarter where the art and the fashion have always been merged to, it is an area full of live, museums and wonderful gastronomy. The Born quarter is the area where the old tow lives with the latest trends. The building was built between 1950 and 1953 by the Architect Antoni de Moragas I Gallissa. It was one of the first buildings of the neoracionalism movement of postwar Europe. The interior design made by Eulalia Calaveras was done to the last detail, to make guests feel at home while in Barcelona. ROOMS The hotel offers 91 welcoming rooms, all of which are exterior. The furniture, combination of wood and textiles and clever lighting all create an atmosphere of warmth and light. Our security system combines the use of magnetic strip key cards and motion detectors to provide greater security and intimacy during your stay. The presence sensors will then switch off the lights as you leave, in keeping with our commitment to sustainability. It distances itself from the stereotypical Spanish tapas bars with a fresh image Offers tapas and side dishes true to the philosophy of ABaC; tradition and modernity in equal measure. Jordi Cruz defines them as "Uncomplicated creations, packed with flavour and impact. The idea is one of an orchestra where the excellent "patatas bravas" - always in their skins, or "calamares a la andaluza" play permanently and invite an exclusive ABaC guest star to play each week; such as the Cherry Ceviche or the Figs with Foie Gras. Generous portions, quality produce and inspired creativity are all offered on a plate at a good price." To complete the experience there are two terraces and one reserved for 20 guests MEETING ROOMS The hotel offers a meeting rooms, from 2 to 50 people, with day light and views to Avenida Marques de Argentera, equipped with the most modern technology.
