We stayed here for 3 nights whilst on a City Break with friends after a recommendation. We caught to Areobus from the airport and it was only a 5 min walk to the hotel. Very easy to get to Las Ramblas and Universitat Metro a few mins away. Hotel welcomed us with a Cava drink and we had rooms with... More

Gravina was a good choice for us. Good position and close to bus and Metro and the Ramblas. All staff were very helpful and friendly, and nothing too much trouble. My room was a double / twin on the third floor with a balcony. Couldn't fault it- comfortable and very clean. My only problem was a very slippery bath and... More

Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights on 5th floor. Room very spacious and clean. Ideal location by shops, restaurants etc. Breakfasts were extremely good, everything you could want. A couple of minus points are that there is no tea/coffee trays supplied but you could ask for a kettle and would be charged for products. As this appears to be... More

Be aware that the website will show you large rooms, but you will probably get a tiny room.... however, the service is good and location is excellent! It's not a luxurious hotel, but I can recommend it especially if you're after a hotel close to the city center.

Pros: Great location, less than 15 minutes walk from places like: Passeig de Gracia, Ramblas, la Bboqueria market, 2 minutes walk to Universitat Metro and bus station, the hotel is surrounded with restaurants, bars and shops. The room was very clean. The breakfast had a wide selection of food. Cons: The room is pretty small, but enough if your main... More

This hotel was convenient, very clean and had helpfull staff. We had a room on the back that was extremely quiet in a busy neighbourhood. It was, however, very basic, especially for the price. We had booked a king bed, but got a queen. A free bottle of cava was advertised, but we got a bottle of water instead. Breakfast... More

This time we stayed during 2nd week October 16 which turned out to be very mixed weather wise with sun, cloud and torrential rain! Our 1st visit was last summer and we were given a room on the 2nd floor which was perfect, off the man road and spacious. This time we were given room 424 which is a superior... More

Very handy for main area's of Barcelona. Only a 3min walk to Les Rambles. It only takes about 30 mins to walk to Port Olympic and the beach. In the other direction across the Placa Catalunya you can visit all the shops such as Armani ,Gucci, Tiffanys. But make sure you have plenty of money if you want to shop... More

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
