Just returned from a great 4 day city break in Barcelona. The hotel has been recently renovated and is immaculate. The rooms are really well appointed and design well thought out. I have stayed in some of the best hotels in the world and struggled at times to find a socket to charge our ever growing electrical items. Not here...

Great location with good connections around the city. On the edge of the Old Town and easy walking distance to all that's contained in that area. Loads of good resturants and bars nearby, the bad ones seen to be around the La Rambla. Friendly and helpful staff, good decor in the rooms, just missed having a kettle in the room...

We visited Barcelona in January this year and stayed for 3 nights at the Barcelona Universal Hotel which we found extremely comfortable, clean, well maintained and in a perfect location. Upon arrival in Barcelona airport we purchased a €5.90 ticket for the Aerobus which took us to Plaza Espana where we purchased a €25 4 day Metro travel card and...

High quality confort, services and cleaness of the hotel. The room was large with mordern furniture. It presents a free gym and a swimming pool ( I didn't use becuase it was genuary). The breakfast offered everything you can expect. The staf was kind and professional. The metro station is just outside the entrance of the hotel. We stayed 5...

The hotel is nice and the staff is generally friendly. The room was spacious and well-decorated, perhaps more spacious because it was for a couple with a child. The breakfast is way too expensive; get breakfast at the closeby caffes (the one called 365 is rather good). We stayed there at the winter, so that we could not enjoy the...

Very good hotel, friendly and helpful at the reception. Good location only one minute from the metrostation and 10 minutes to walk to the famous Ramblas and Port. Rooms are very nice and the breakfast buffet has a great selection. We just can recommend this hotel. Eugen, Patrick, Micky and Maiko

Stayed here for my wifes birthday in November. Weather had just started to get cooler given it was 21st. Still sunny and about 5 degrees. We checked in early about 10:30 and could get straight out. We took a bus from the airport for a few euros, got off at place catalunya and walked the last bit (15 mins). Barcelona...

I booked this hotel quickly thought it looked ok and was cheap. What a lovely surprise!! It was very smart, the room was lovely with a patio, clean and well maintained with good sized bathroom. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Easy walking to lots of places and the Metro right outside. Just a shame it was to cold...

Got this hotel as a prelude to my 9 days Norwegian cruise ex Barcelona. The location could not be more ideal for folks like us. The Paral-el subway station entrance is just 30 feet in front of this hotel and a taxi ride from this hotel to the cruise port is less than 10 minutes for the 1.7km ride. If...

An amazing surprise to see a hotel look so good especially when you book only from using pictures and reviews it always feels risky. Plush, clean, ultra modern extremely polite helpful staff. Room perfect and the location is perfect very central and next road to La Rambla the main strip of restaurants bars. No noise because you are not on...

Staying in El Raval

Neighbourhood Profile
El Raval
Once a downtrodden corner of downtown Barcelona, this gritty area has seen a cultural resurgence boasting an excellent nightlife and one of the most multi ethnic spots in the entire city. A sense of humble authenticity protrudes from the many independent record stores, second hand shops, and student bars that seem to light up the streets day and night. The rocking epicenter, the MACBA Plaça, is a modern day forum for bohemian youth, abuzz with the sights and sounds of late-night gatherings and talented skateboarders showing off their latest tricks.
