The reviews on tripadvisor.com led us to book this B&B for our trip to Barcelona. We arrived yesterday and everything people said about this place is true. It is a little hard to find, but Pablo and Anna couldn't be nicer. We got a wonderful orientation to the city from Pablo who marked a map for us with highlights and...

The warm welcome, excellent communication, helpfulness, and follow-up provided by Roberto, Anna and Pablo kicked off our visit to Barcelona. Staying at El Balcon is like staying with friends. The accommodations are roomy, stylish and impeccably clean. Bathrooms are sometimes shared with other guests, but we never had any conflicts. It felt very private. We barely saw any of the...

El Balcon del Born is the best place to stay in Barcelona and let me tell you why: 1) THE OWNERS- Pablo and Anne are extremely friendly and help you with everything. They sit you down when you arrive and give you an extremely helpful packet about everything you need to know about local dining and sightseeing gems. They are...

My husband and I went to Barcelona for just a weekend but we fell in love with the city right from the start. Pablo and Anna only added to the warmth and hospitality. The BnB is not the easiest to find as there is no big board but again dont be fooled by the entrance, once you are in the...

It started with the emails. They were informative and any questions that I had were promptly answered. We did not get the room that I wanted because I delayed in confirming the booking, don't make this mistake as the B&B is very popular. Having said this, our second choice room was great - it had a small balcony with chairs...

This is basically an apartment share, but extremely elegant and with a great personal touch. Pablo is a friendly and helpful host and all the guests were pleasant and respectful. Good neighborhood, the entrance is on a buzzing pedestrian side street, very close to the metro and many good spots. Highly recommended.

Staying in El Born / La Ribera

Neighbourhood Profile
El Born / La Ribera
The labyrinth that is El Born becomes most apparent the moment you turn down one of its side streets. But this is one of the few labyrinths you might actually enjoy losing your way in. After all, there are few places that live and breathe such exciting energy regardless of the time of day. This neighbourhood seamlessly transcends the old and new parts of the city, reflected in its vast array of restaurants ranging from fancy Michelin-star establishments to trendy fusion restaurants. Here you'll find historical and cultural attractions such as the popular Picasso Museum and the Gothic cathedral La Santa Maria del Mar, where you just might be able to catch a traditional Catalan wedding.
