The hotel is clean, smart and comfortable. We got a deal for £60/night B&B for a 3 night stay and it was excellent value for money. The self serve breakfast was wide ranging wih hot & cold selections and ran from 7-10am so was never overly busy. We didn't eat there in the evening but they have a menu del...

Spent two nights in this hotel before going on a cruise, we had a nice room on the side with views over the sea and along the coast. Room was clean, comfortable and bright. Reception staff were exceptionally helpful, pleasant and took time to assist with directions and information, providing maps, leaflets etc. Although hotel is quite a bit out...

My friend and I have just returned from our trip to Barcelona staying at the Rafael Digaonal port. After reading some of the more recent reviews I was a little worried, didn't know what to expect well I can honestly say we would return to this hotel should we go back to Barcelona. It was very clean and comfortable. The...

My boyfriend and I stayed here mid November for a few nights.. and we both ended up ill. The bedroom we were allocated was very dusty, it may be because they don't have duvets, only thin sheets, and the only option when it is 2 degrees celcius outside is to use a dusty blanket. The aircon was also a joke,...

I stayed at this hotel the two previous years with a good experience. Perhaps the management has changed since, as this time my experience is nothing short of an irritating nightmare. Upon check-in I received a junior suit on the other side of the hotel even though my companion was here one day before and reserved the room clearly pointing...

Dear Sirs, First of all, please receive my deepest apologies for any inconvenience you could have suffered during your last stay in our hotel Rafaelhoteles Diagonal Port, (concerning the damaged elevator, in order to ensure the safety of all the clients we decided to fix it up but unfortunatelly it took more time to be fixed because of the replacement)....

Well, 4 stars are not just not right – it is almost a joke… The maintenance level is somewhere around zero: One of the 2 elevators was out of order during our entire stay. Toilet paper holder was broken, mirror was broken. Uneatable chocolate in the mini bar. The hotel has 10 irons in total – after I finally got...

My husband and I just returned from our week long trip to Madrid and Barcelona. We won this hotel through Priceline with a very low bid, so we definitely liked the price. The room was clean and quiet, and the front desk staff was very helpful. The only real problem with this hotel is that it is a bit far...

We've just came back from a 5 day trip to Barcelona and found this hotel to be really good value for money. The hotel is located no more than 5 minutes walk from the beach and not far from the city centre (a taxi costs around 10 euros to get there). The staff was really helpful and friendly all the...

Staying in Poblenou

Neighbourhood Profile
The futuristic Agbar Tower stands out from Barcelona's skyline in Poblenou. It is no coincidence then that this area of town is the newly crowned technological park of the city, its own mini Silicon Valley containing a tech incubator (Barcelona Activa) as well as a host of local and international high tech companies. To accommodate the onrush of new residents and workers, the area of Poblenou has seen a surge of activity in new high-rise residential buildings and two top-notch shopping centres catering to everyone's need. The ambiance of this area is calmer than the city center and the beautifully relaxing Bogatell Beach, popular with locals, is just a handful of blocks away.
