Stayed for four nights, the room was clean, large and basic. The rooms at the front of the hotel (where mine was) face a shopping/cafe street and can be a bit noisy during the day and evening, didn't bother me and I had no problem sleeping. Great complimentary breakfast included - best coffee I've had in Spain. Would stay again.

Close to Las Ramblas and hop on hop off bus routes. Friendly staff and an included breakfast a real bonus, would stay again. Plenty of small cafes for a quick meal. Some shuttle bus services drop you a block or so away but still an easy walk.

Very friendly staff, lovely clean room and the bathroom was bigger than most hotels. We arrived at 2:30am and checked out at 12pm for a stop over. Would recommend although not many places to park that don't cost at least €20-30. There is a coffee shop across the road and many other stores close by, the cathedral is only a... More

If you are going to Barcelona, you need to get a central location and you won't get much better than Hotel Cortes. Just off Las Rambla, the main street in Barcelona, just down from Plaza Cataluna the main transport hub and where the bus from the airport drops off, and at the top of the Gothic Quarter where tiny shops,... Stayed for 1 night in Barcelona, hotel ideally located in city centre close to placa de catalunya where all modes of transport go from and just a short walk down to the cathedral and the beautiful buildings in the gothic quarter. Staff were friendly and helpful and the room was clean. There was only 1 towel provided (twin room for... More

Close from Catalunya Plaza, airport bus, trains, metros, buses, shops, ramblas. You can do all walking. Very advisable. One thing, on 4th floor, gypsum walls!! If you like to hear everything from your room mates...!! Take it!! Bath ok, shower water gets outside. Room smal,l but good enough. European style. Breakfast ok. Clean.

The single best thing about Hotel Cortes is the location. You get off the bus from the airport, walk 2 minutes to Las Ramblas and take the first left on the way down. Its that easy. The hotel itself is clean but quite basic, you get what you pay for. We were at the back of the hotel which was... More

Staying in Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)

Neighbourhood Profile
Barrio Gotico (Barri Gotic)
With its iconic, old-Europe streets and alleys, this picturesque neighbourhood is the very heart of Barcelona. It blends historic artifacts from its days under Roman dominion up through the Spanish Civil War with a vibrant modern-day culture of artisan shops and authentic culinary experiences. Avid explorers will be thrilled to discover quaint terraces and plazas brought to life by the many small bars and local musicians lasting late into the night. Fashionistas will be drawn to Portal de L’Angel, which is lined with well-known brand names and smaller boutique stands.
