My wife and I traveled to Barcelona from 24 until 26 of May 2013. We stayed in room 407, a corner room on the topfloor. Our experience with the hotel is: Pro: - good value for price; - location! (Ramblas, metro, etcetera); - clean room and bathroom; - simple breakfast included; - 24/7 reception, friendly; - there is an elevator...

Was just looking for a single room for one night, and this was perfect. Paid €40, and didn't expect much, but it was really, really nice. Check in was efficient and friendly. I like trying to speak Spanish, and the chap on reception indulged me by explaining everything slowly and clearly in Spanish. I headed up to the room to...

just spent 4 days in barcelona staying at this hotel. Ideal position for a base from which to explore. Yards from La Ramblas. Although this is not a luxury hotel it is clean well maintained. All the staff friendly and helpful. Good value for money. Would definately reccomend it especially if on a budget and would stay there again

Our first time in Barcelona so hard to know how to choose where to stay but I made an excellent choice! Clean, fresh contemporary decor, comfortable bed - felt hard at first but I slept very well. Walk out the door and you're in the midst of the Gothic Quarter: La Rambla a stone's throw, lots of choice of restaurants,...

By the time the reception clerk had shown us to two rooms that were already occupied (one with a person in the bed!) we wondered what we were coming to. The room was quite well equipped, with air-con and TV although basic. We were woken in the middle of the night, thinking it was raining, but it was the room...

Spent 4 days at Hotel California after a 15 day cruise from Ft. Lauderdale to Barcelona on the Celebrity Equinox. Hotel is tucked away on a narrow walk street steps from Carrer Ferran, a combination pedestrian or traffic street depending on time of day. Taxis can use the street even when it's peds only, although it's slow going because there...

I booked this hotel after scouring websites and forums wanting to find a centrally located hotel on a budget. We were travelling to Barcelona as one of our group of 3 was running the half marathon. Having paid £37 each for 2 nights bed and breakfast we weren't expecting much other than a clean room, how wrong could we be....

Great hotel, great location, couldn't ask for more for the price! Definitely worth a visit. Very stylish, modern and clean in the heart of the gothic quarter. Perfect base for exploring! Had a cool balcony overlooking the back streets, great atmosphere. Don't believe the hype about it being in a dodgy area because it isn't at all!!!!

The hotel was clean and comfotable with very helpful reception staff who spoke very good english. The continental buffet breakfast was included in the price and was a good way to start the day.
