The hotel is centrally located and easy to commute to different part of the City. This is right in the heart of hustle and bustle of the Barcelona. The breakfast was monotonous though, this could be improved.

Nice, clean, very central with friendly and helpful staff - we enjoyed our stay here. The price is reasonable but the breakfast, although tasty, was quite limited. Don't stay if you want quiet, as Hotel California is right in the heart of the action. Amazing locatioh.

Location is good in the Old City and close to the Las Romblas. We arrived in pouring rain and had to walk a couple of blocks with bags, as the taxi could not drive down the hotel street. It was not a pleasant welcome from the receptionist. We arrived around 8am but had to wait until 1pm for a room... More

Area is central to transportation and sites. HOWEVER not an area I would recommend to a single woman after dark. Front desk staff are rude and not helpful. Asked 6 months in advance for quiet room upper floor in the back and was given room 104 -low and noisy room with adjoining wall to elevator that 'moaned' each time it... More

I stayed here with my boyfriend last week and frankly, for the low price we'd paid, we expected much less - but we were both very satisfied. The location couldn't be better - two minute walk from the middle of La Rambla, and down an alley so it's still fairly quiet. Our room was on the fourth floor. We arrived... More

Overall, a great place to stay. The location is excellent, close to las ramblas and major transportation links. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The only negatives are that some fresh fruit at breakfast would be nice, and the beds were very hard. These are only minor however and we would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is just one street off of Las Ramblas, down an alley so was much quieter than the main street whilst still being in a great location for sightseeing. Everywhere was clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was a very nice continental. There are many restaurants and bars nearby so finding places to eat is... More

We enjoyed the friendly staff at Hotel California and the easily accessible sites from our location. The bed was a bit hard but that was the worst I could say. For a short visit in this busy city, the room was fine.

Not a bad stay. One street off of Las Ramblas, down an alley so not as loud. Small, basic rooms. Downside is you can hear next door neighbors doors slam loudly when they stumble in at 0300. Breakfast basic but adequate. You have to leave your key with the front desk when you go out. Near plenty of bars and... More

We stayed here for a week. The hotel is in a good location for sightseeing. Our room was clean, breakfast was adequate to start the day especially the mini croissantss filled with chocolate.
