We stayed over the UK August Bank Holiday. We found it very good value. The accommodation consists of student residences that can be used by visitors during the vacation. You need to use the room card to move around the complex, so it does add to security. The studio we were in was well maintained and clean. The room is...

The hotel is excellantly located about 1 mile away from Catalunya square & 1 mile away from attractions like Sagrada Familia, it is also only 200 metres away from the Marina Metro station. The hotel is very basic and clean and looks like it has been decorated with everything from Ikea but considering the price you can't complain. Didn't have...

We stayed here for 4 nights. If you have time to spend on the train and need to save cash, good option. I wouldn't want to be so far out if we only had a couple of nights. For sure get the 10 ride pass, you can share it between 2 people. Pros- new building so no mold. Quiet neighborhood...

This hotel is good for the Budget travellers. It is a litlle bit far away from a city center, so be ready to travel with bublic transport or taxi. We used mainly basis taxi which cost us aroud 5 €/trip. The hotel itself is ok, but the room is really, really small. For excample if you are two pers. with...

We stayed in the Melon District Hotel, nice concept of small rooms, but comfortable living room/kitchen on each floor, and a swimming pool at the roof. Many young people/students. Hotel is located close to Metro and 20 min walking distance from beach and Sagrada Famila. Friendly staff at the reception, very kind and helpfull.

The place offers a great service level considering it's not a hotel, but a hostel. It is located close to the city center, you can see Sagrada Familia from the main street, it has a pool on the roof with a view to the city, it has a cafeteria which offers special prices for residents, the personnel is very helpful...

My boyfriend and I stayed three nights at Melon District. I was immediately impressed on arrival with the pleasant greeting from the Reception staff. A clear explanation of the facilities was provided in English, which was a great help! The room is small, but for a place to sleep and shower after a long day of walking the spectacular streets,...

Cheap and new hostel. Friendly staff but not in a great part of town. Also, promoting the hostel by saying it is close to the beach is probably a bit of a strecth. Still quite a walk and not a charming one at that due to the neighbourhood. The thing we found most negative was the cleaning of the rooms....

Staying in Poblenou

Neighbourhood Profile
Poblenou
The futuristic Agbar Tower stands out from Barcelona's skyline in Poblenou. It is no coincidence then that this area of town is the newly crowned technological park of the city, its own mini Silicon Valley containing a tech incubator (Barcelona Activa) as well as a host of local and international high tech companies. To accommodate the onrush of new residents and workers, the area of Poblenou has seen a surge of activity in new high-rise residential buildings and two top-notch shopping centres catering to everyone's need. The ambiance of this area is calmer than the city center and the beautifully relaxing Bogatell Beach, popular with locals, is just a handful of blocks away.
