We rented a 2 bedroom apartment in this place and it was fantastic. The manager and staff were so nice. We came in off of a Mediterranean Cruise and they allowed us to store our luggage in the cafe downstairs since we got in early so that we could go ahead and start exploring the Gothic Quarter. My husband got...

We had 3 nights in Barcelona before flying home after an amazing 3 week trip around Europe. We picked Casa de Les lletres because of location and amenities. Amazing apartments! Unfortunately there was construction next door and the workers broke the water main. We had to be relocated to a different area, but the staff was amazing and resolved all...

Great apartment/hotel for those who seek the extraordinary. Staff could not be more helpful nor more sweet. Apartments are unique and perfectly appointed. Stayed in the George Orwell suite (it IS the "House of Words" after all). Lovely views of the Plaza. Very nice food at the cafe. Quirky king bed arrangement and bath tub probably not for those with...

I have been in one apartment of La Casa de les Lletres with my family on August 2015. The apartment is very nice and belongs to a building recently renewed. From a logistic point of view it is fabulous, as you can easily reach by foot the old town and Barceloneta or take the metro or bus to go actually...

We stayed in the second floor apartment for 3 nights and really enjoyed our stay. The staff were helpful, printed off our online booking tickets etc, and the restaurant is ideal for tasty breakfasts and later meals at the outdoor terrace. The apartments are very tastefully decorated and had all the facilities that we needed for a family including 2...

Stayed in the 5th floor for 4 nigths. Good standard and nicely decorated flat with a bedroom with good size wardrobe and big double bed. Very nice bathroom. Nice kitchencorner, covering the needs for a holiday, in an open livingroom sized for a family of 4. Some noise from the streets and the square outside, and just a little between...

Really dreadful place. Terribly over-priced. Would not recommend. We stayed in their second floor "luxury" apartment - which was anything but luxury. Unclean, dreadful smell of drains throughout the building, plumbing & electronics didn't work, very poor security (windows & doors), staff unfriendly/unhelpful and the final straw was the non-stop noise - construction drilling by day, traffic by night (windows...

We arrived Barcelona with our 2 kids (16,13) and stayed 2 nights at the duplex appartment of La Cas de led Lletres. The apartment is spacious, comfortable and very nice decorated. wifi is free. The location is great. Very close to the beach and within 10 minutes walking you are on La Rambla and other sites or metro. Two nights...

Just off of the harbour, at the edge of the old part of the city, the hotel has an excellent, central location. The apartments are relatively spacious, stylish and with an original touch. Breakfast is served out at the plaza, with a selection of menus - nice. All in all, warmly recommended, a pity we only had one night in...

Staying in La Rambla

Neighbourhood Profile
La Rambla
Barcelona's most famous street was once a dry riverbed. Now, La Rambla is a 1200-metre boulevard, and a major draw for visitors. During the day, La Rambla fills with pedestrians, some of which stroll past impressive human statues and artists while others take a break to people-watch while enjoying a drink at one of the many terraces. Housed here is the iconic Boqueria Market that offers one of the most varied and appetising selections of local produce and specialty meats and treats. While it’s important for tourists to keep an eye on their belongings at all times, this area is most safely explored in the daytime and is a must see for everyone who visits.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A new concept of lodging. A luxury designed for people visiting the city for business or cultural grounds, looking for comfort and discretion. Six apartments with excellent amenities, family-run atmosphere in the Gothic Quarter, the historic center of Barcelona, and rentable for months. The apartments themselves are in a historic 18th-century building that has been meticulously renovated.>The interior conserves the building's period features and combines them with contemporary design. In all, the apartments provide privacy and comfort in a tasteful setting. By means of a selection of well-known authors with ties to Barcelona, literature is the theme that ties the project together and provides cultural content that supports a deeper understanding of the city. On the ground floor, on Placa Antonio Lopez, El Cafe and La Terrassa round off the services offered in the apartments. Here guests can enjoy traditional cuisine with a contemporary twist. The menu includes a selection of tapas and Mediterranean dishes made with locally sourced produce, as well as a number of breakfast options. ... more   less
