My partner and I stayed at Del Mar hotel last week on our three day break in Barcelona. The hotel is in old square, Pla de Palau/Plaza Palacio. In antiquity it was the main squre of commercial Barcelona and gave access to the city from the port. The current building date from the 18th and 19th century and what beautiful...

Great location. Clean,no frills accommodation, but everything you need. The breakfast was lovely, plenty to eat. The staff at the hotel were incredibly polite and helpful. Would definitely recommend this hotel, ideal for a city hotel.

As many have written in their reviews that the location is something that counts the most for this hotel. It is 150-200 meters from Barceloneta metro station connecting you to the rest of the city. It is very close to the port area (5 mins walking distance). LAS RAMBLAS is around 500 meters or 10-12 mins walk away, Many eateries...

We stayed for 3 nights! We had booked this hotel through travel republic and I didn't realise how central the hotel actually was! Just right beside the port, beside the metro and a 5 minute walk from the França train station. Check in was so easy and the staff were friendly, our room was ready upon us arriving so we...

This is a 3 star hotel a few minutes walk from The Gothic Quarter and Marina. It is a 3 star hotel, but was clean, rooms basic but with daily cleaner service, towels, shower gels etc. Our room had a lovely little balcony overlooking the square. The only thing that put me off was the strong smell of drains coming...

Lovely hotel in a great location perfect for metro buses and touristic bus. Hotel reception staff very helpful and our room was spotless every day. Only downside for me was the room we were allocated it looked onto the lift shafts which made our room very noisy and not great when your a light sleeper. The buffet breakfast was included...

Hotel and room were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was well done, and a great way to start off the day. The location couldn't have been better.....we'd just head out in a different direction each morning to explore! Almost across the street from the Hop On-Hop Off bus stop. Front desk staff was very helpful, and suggested sites and restaurants they...

Staying in Barceloneta

Neighbourhood Profile
Barceloneta
Originally a fisherman’s quarter, this quaint area can’t escape its small village feel: laundry hanging over the narrow streets, old ladies clamoring at each other from their balconies and elder gentlemen playing games on short wooden benches gossiping the day away, Barceloneta could double as a film set. Artists line the boardwalk displaying their magnificently detailed sand structures making this the most visited beach in the city (the shirtless men working out might help too). You’ll know by the delicious aroma that you're in the right place to try some of the best and most authentic seafood including paella, Spain’s national dish.
