I recently stayed four nights for a business function in Valladolid and found the hotel to be a very pleasant experience.

Rooms are surprisingly large and comfortable (I stayed in Room 11 on the ground floor equipped with two single beds) but are a little spartan with wooden flooring and light coloured walls. Sleep quality was good.

The bathroom is large with bath tub, bidet and double sink but no separate shower. The room had no view to speak of overlooking scrub and lawn.

As if often the case in Spain there are no tea and coffee making facilities in the room but what is sadly lacking and a pre requisite for a hotel claiming to be five star is an in room safe. That has prevented me from awarding a five star rating and I would have expected a safe in a Marriott property. .

The hotel is some way from the historic centre of Valladolid so maybe not ideal for tourists as there is nothing of interest in the vicinity and you need to order a taxi to go to the city. It was, however, ideal for a business trip or conference.

The gym and small indoor swimming pool were open and breakfast was quite nice albeit with no variation on a daily basis. I ate one night in the restaurant which was very good and good value for money.

Staff throughout the stay were charming and spoke enough English for overseas travellers and I would certainly stay again..

Looking at the photos one expects the hotel to be in a meadow, however it is in a busy suburb of Valladolid near a huge shopping center. Don't know when they took the pictures but the area is very different from the photos, and although it is very convenient to the highway the GPS takes you around and around, so not very easy to find, specially since you are looking for a bucolic setting.

The rooms are spacious and so are the bathrooms but the first room we were offered had a bad odor so we changed to another room and this one had a bad smell as well, although not as bad as the first one. It smelled like sewage but the smell did not came from the bathrooms. Strange.

The rooms are dark, the public areas are dark, everything is dark. The only bright spot is their service;the staff is very helpful and pleasant.

Dear customer, Thank you for choosing to stay at the AC Hotel Palacio de Santa Ana and providing your honest feedback that are always beneficial for our daily improvement. Providing the highest level of hospitality is our number one priority and we sincerely apologize for the incidents in your stay experience, falling short of meeting your expectations. About the situation, The AC Hotel Palacio de Santa Ana is a Los Jerónimos Monastery form the 18Th century. Hotel stays to 3 miles from The Plaza Mayor of Valladolid let us to enjoy a special building with a great cover cloister and a six thousand square meters next to the Pisuerga River and it is located in a residential area on the outskirts of Valladolid. Normally clients have no problem finding the hotel with the GPS, although it is true that it cannot be seen directly from the main road, so it is indicated how to enter from it. We are sorry that the decoration was not to your liking, due to the hotel is located in an old monastery, its decoration seeks to take us back to that time, including the lights; instead of white light, the entire establishment is decorated with warm light. On the other hand, our maintenance department is checking the rooms to see what could have happened with the smell in the room. These days it rained a lot and that may be the reason why this happened. Once again, thank you for your valued feedback and we hope to serve you again whenever your travels bring you back to Valladolid and to apologize personally. Thank you very much for everything. Best regards

We stayed here on our way to Madrid. We were giving the suite and it was very nice with everything new and modern. However the outlets were placed in weird places and absent in the places were needed such as end tables. Breakfast was one of the best we had so far in Spain. The location does not offer much in terms of walking just tow houses

I find it hard to associate this hotel as part of the Marriot group. Our one night experience was terrible to say the least .
I’ll start with the room .
1. So hot that the air conditioning , not working so couldn’t reduce the temperature
2. The shower gel dispenser was empty
3. TV wouldn’t work
4. Wallpaper coming off all around the room
5. Bed uncomfortable and creaky any movement by one woke the other.

Restruant
1. Service for drinks was really poor both before and during the meal
2. Couldn’t provide cocktails as per menu
3. Restruant not available due to a function the following day so not what we expected .
4. Waited 45 mins for dinner plates to be removed and left in the end as we were not asked if we required a dessert .
5. Understaffed hence lack of attention .
6. Breakfast , we ordered eggs Benedict and when they arrived both were stone cold and inedible .
7. The buffet bar also had cold dry sandwiches on offer , if you dared that is .
So all in all not a good representation for a Marriot hotel

Dear customer, Thank you for choosing to stay at the AC Hotel Palacio de Santa Ana and providing your honest feedback that are always beneficial for our daily improvement. Providing the highest level of hospitality is our number one priority and we sincerely apologize for the incidents in your stay experience, falling short of meeting your expectations. Therefore, and thanks to your comments, as a teachable moment, we have shared your feedback and we have already hard working with the appropriate hotel team to look responsibilities, to ensure the necessary guidelines are in place and to prevent it doesn’t happen again in the future. Apologies for what happened in your stay about the restaurant experience, having events at the hotel should not have affected the development of your stay. On the other hand, our maintenance department reviews all room defects and tries to repair them, but we understand that there are things that require more in-depth repair. The hotel has been around for more than 20 years and of course things can break down. We would like to inform you that we are already studying the possibility of carrying out a renovation to improve all the facilities, including the rooms. Once again, thank you for your valued feedback and we hope to serve you again whenever your travels bring you back to Valladolid and to apologize personally. Thank you very much for everything.

This hotel is lacking in everything. The rooms are bare bones, without any charm or decor, not even a picture on the wall. There are no interesting views and nowhere to plug in your phone at the bedside. Dinner at the restaurant was inedible. The breakfast buffet was ok, similar to others in the area. The elevator holds no more than 3 people at a time due to a weight limit. Avoid this hotel if possible. Stay somewhere in town in Valladolid.

Either there aren’t a three peolple limit for lifts, the limit for number of people is because of the COVID-19 and the limit on lifts is about 630Kg, (about eight people). I selected this hotel through Bonvoy app as I was driving from Lisbon to Munich. I had somehow low expectations however it turned out to be a very good stay. I liked the style of the hotel. The room was on the second floor. The bed was comfortable, the room was overall very clean and quiet. I was so tired and I had a good sleep. My only minor complaint is that the restaurant opening hours were quite late and there was nothing to eat around 18:00 other than room service. After waiting a while I was offered a burger from the room service menu, which was by the way very good. However I would prefer to have a decent meal at the restaurant if it was open earlier. Breakfast was very good.

This is not a bad hotel but it does not deserve 5 stars. It deserves 4 at best. The pillows are worthy of a 3 star hotel, the rooms are not sound proof enough and the amenities are almost non existing, not even a laundry plastic bag... Maybe it's because of the Covid situation but it still costs the usual price, I therefore expect the usual service. The good thing was the people at reception, extremely kind and efficient. The building itself is beautiful and looks 5 stars.

Providing the highest level of hospitality is our number one priority and we sincerely apologize for the incidents in your stay experience, falling short of meeting your expectations. Yes, as tou said, because of COVID19, we are gradually adapting our situation from an operational hotel for essential services to the new actual situation. It is a process that we must carry out with care and we feel the inconvenience that this could cause them. It is planned that at the beginning of August we will begin to open spaces and increase services. Apologize for this situation that is being complicated for everyone.
