The hotel was well managed and the Covid processes and the need to book the restaurant was well explained at check in. All staff were friendly and the rooms were very clean. The restaurant was well laid out with space between tables so we felt very safe and would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling through Spain.

Great place to stop on route south from the Santander ferry. Room was basic, but clean and surprisingly big. There was no kettle. Parking was limited, but we were able to park in the area behind the petrol station, which was fairly big. Thankfully by the time we arrived (9ish) they were still serving food, as the area the hotel is situated in is very industrial, so there’s no where else to grab a bit to eat unless you popped into the garage next door for some snacks. We picked this hotel because it was pet friendly and they gave our dog a ball to play with, which was nice touch. Staff were friendly and efficient and spoke good English. Would definitely recommend.

We spent a night at this place on Saturday 14th August for onward travel to the Ferry at Bilbao.

The room was clean and the bed VERY comfortable.

The location is great for those wanting easy access back to the motorways

The lady that booked us in was surely.

We decided to eat in, ordered wine, we questioned the size of the measure which was about 2.5cm, the reply was " well that's a measure do you want more. The food was then served, my wife had a few bites and had to run to the toilets to be sick.

I can understand why there were so few people taking dinner there.

So the accommodation was good let down by poor service and rubbish food

Our stay at the Hotel Ibis in Valladolid felt very unwelcome. The staff did not want to interact with us at all, I know we all have to wear a mask, stay 2 metres apart and the staff are behind perspex screens, but they could at least smile and speak with you. No-one we encountered was prepared to do that ! We have stayed at this hotel before and liked its large reception area with comfy chairs. The hotel has a restaurant, but we tend to eat in the reception area so we can have our dog with us and he's not left in the room on his own. .

On arriving, the large reception area was empty of furniture ! Also, there is no outside seating at this hotel, so effectively, you are confined to your room as there is nowhere else to go, you cant sit at the bar and cant hang around in the restaurant either ! I dont really think it was necessary to clear the reception seating, it could have just been socially distanced. Also, there is a nice large paved area outside the hotel that is filled with abandoned planters with dead plants in them. That area could be cleared of planters and socially distanced outside seating could be put in with parasols. At least then there would be somewhere to sit that is not your tiny room. Although the hotel is clean and comfy, it doesnt have anything else to recommend it, its set on the edge of town between the wholesale fruit market and a large lorry park

Breakfast for the next morning had to be ordered there and then on a form, and also dinner. We took dinner in the restaurant (only us in) and it was awful ! Obviously, a chef had prepared some basic meals for the receptionist to microwave. I had chicken which was very dry, my husband had pork loin which was better as it was in gravy, both meals were served with................a bag of crisps !!!!! The whole experience was a complete joke for a total cost of €24. Had we known, we would have bought and eaten from the petrol station next door !

Breakfast the next morning was better. We had ordered 2 of everything on the list each, which actually was quite a lot, so we were satisfied with that as it was what we would have chosen had the buffet breakfast been running.

I stayed in 6 hotel Ibis on this trip and this one was one of the worst. Other hotels, especially in France are handling the guest experience much better than this one and my stay this time will prevent me from ever staying at Ibis Valladolid again.

Good location for stop over en route to the South from Santander ferry. Very comfortable rooms, and with free hopefully, secure parking. The only negative point is the very basic and unappealing restaurant menu for dinner. There is no other alternative to eat close by. No problem though, for one night, and we were just happy that our cat could stay in the room with us.

The hotel is well placed for a stopover being approximately 2 miles off the motorway and 2.5 hrs from Santander. The staff are very welcoming, the rooms clean and a decent selection of good value food. Overall the service is very good.

I was lucky, I didn't book ahead on the way south, but they were full when I returned heading home.
Room was very clean and comfortable, easy WiFi log in, excellent buffet breakfast with a huge choice of fruit, cereal, bread, croissants, juices, coffee etc. My only criticism is difficult parking, only a few places at the front and limited places behind the hotel.
Staff were helpful and friendly, they spoke good English

We were very surprised with the food we had in the restaurant. We had been in the centre all day and tired and really didn’t want to go back in the evening. There’s little else around where the hotel is for food so we decided to have a pizza and salad to share. Staff were friendly and the food didn’t take long to come. We were sort of expecting supermarket standard but have to say we were impressed with the quality of the pizza and the salad, so if you’re thinking of eating in at the hotel give it a try!

No, Ibis hotels do not do this as standard. Try to get a room on the ground floor and they are very helpful on reception and in the bar.

Can our dog stay in our room? What is payment policy?
Answer from Beryl S

I understand that you may keep a dog I your room but dogs are not allowed in the restaurant. We stayed overnight in a double room, had a freshly cooked 3 course meal with wine and a buffet breakfast the total cost was €101:20 an absolute bargain. On checking out we paid by debit card but credit cards are acceptable and it is possible to pay on the evening before your departure if you need an early start

El desayuno continental constaba de 2 piezas de bolleria (creo que incluía también tostada), zumo envasado y un cafe o infusión.
