However, room was comfortable and spacious with a very generous bathroom. The room and the hotel generally was very quiet and had excellent block out curtains, not that they are so necessary in Spain as it doesn't get light in September until 8 am and gets dark relatively early.
The only difficult thing about this hotel was the “no warning” nor any advanced information provided about the parking situation upon check in. There literally were no parking spaces within blocks of the hotel for a quick 15 min. check-in. We accidently parked in front of a private garage for ten minutes while the owner walked to the hotel to express her anger. There was no help by the hotel in advance of this obviously daily problem.
Once getting by this initial issue, we had a glorious stay!
We came back to the hotel at about 3:00pm. Our room was very nice. The decor was very pretty. There was enough space in the room and the bathroom to feel comfortable.
The hotel was very nice. The location not the best to be close to the center of town, but it worked for us since the next day we walked to the train station to take the train back to Madrid.
However, service and behaviour of staff are rather poor. When we checked in yesterday we needed parking, so the lady said "of course there is" and gave instructions. Nobody mentioned fees.
Even though we came back at 4 am, we woke up and were ready to check out at 12.15 when they told us it was possible to leave. They called us at 12.14 asking if we were staying "one more day". So we went to the desk and we were told there was an extra charge for parking. This blonde lady, Cristina, when we said that nobody informed us, started to say that it was not her problem (!!!!) putting on faces and basically not even letting us explain that it is a duty of whoever at reception to inform every guests about fees. "We write it everywhere in the parking and on the reception desk" - it was a small square in the very corner, indicating that the price for one day parking was 16.50 euro.
What is the need for a front desk agent if all I have to do I read info in booking, on the reception desk and so forth? For a 4 star deluxe hotel service and attitude are ridiculously poor... Also, when we asked to speak with the manager she said: " he can't be reached at the moment".i am sure you will all agree that is not a matter of paying or not paying the parking, it is more a problem of how the staff here behaves with the guests of the hotel and how much they NOT CARE about them.
Not recommended, you an go to another hotel and pay the same amount for a better service
"Get direction from the hotel on parking upon check-in. This is in the heart of a busy university-city so bring ear plugs!"Read full review
