Firstly, Lizeth Melian, the reservations contact, went over and beyond all expectations. We visited for the first time, during covid restrictions. Not easy for anyone. Apart from helping with maps, supermarkets, she helped us hire a car, a few steps down from the hotel, organise a picnic lunch for our day trip and recommended a clinic for the covid tests. Usual one would say. I can assure you not. Lizeth was ALWAYS, smiling, polite, charming and delightful. Actually, everyone was, the kind waiter recommending a chilled rose with dinner to the cleaning lady. Everyone followed covid restrictions and made us feel relaxed. None of the rooms have balconies or sea views, but from the 7th floor, on the pool terrace, the views are panoramic and fabulous, sheltered the glass screens (Jan 2021, erratic weather). A few steps to the paseo, where restaurants, bars were open until 9pm, following all rules, with lockdown at 10pm. We chose half board because of the COVID and were a little unsure what we would find outside. Buffet breakfast copious with hot and cold food. Sometimes we were 6 sometimes more at the hotel so evening meal was a choice of chicken or fish, with salad or soup and desert, basic but good quality. Twice we had the buffet, quite honestly, none of the food could be faulted. Bottle of Torres rose, very chilled and delicious 11 euros, not excessive and they kept it cold for us the following evening if we didn´t finish. The hotel is of the old grand style. Beds are clean and comfortable with walk in shower bathrooms. Some of the rooms were a little dark, but it was winter, am sure in the summer, it kept the rooms cool. A few minutes to the beach, there are beds to hire and a choice of lovely places to stop and eat, drink. The 7th floor pool area is a great escape . . . we were the only people using it that week. Almost private! Pool ok to swim, not excessively deep and ok for children at one end. 15 minutes from the airport by taxi, a bit more by bus and a 10 m walk from there. Great location. Nothing to fault. I am an energetic young mid fifites and my mother an astmatic 77 year old. It suited us both, the paseo lit up at night, beautiful to walk along after dinner. No issues for mobility as there were ramps and lifts. Clean, good value, charming.…
half decent hotel, close to the beach and all attractions, easy bus ride from the airport (Bus 60) 3 euro each way. Hotel could do with updating, staff very pleasant and food was good quality and plenty of it, good views from the restaurant. Room was very clean with comfortable beds There is a nice rooftop pool and sunbathing area with great views.
Less than one minute from the beach and 5 minutes walk from the Port area make this a great location. The rooms do not have much of a view unless you have one of the 6th floor suites. Staying here on a Jet 2 City Break the suite was 35€ a night extra but well worth the extra cost. Only had one evening meal in the hotel (due to the sandstorm) and while cheap (15€) it was a basic buffet, OK with as much as you like but basic. The beachfront has many options for good meals at reasonable prices. A local bus stops outside the hotel on the way back from the old city so no need for a car to get about Las Palmas. Hotel staff were very good and although replacement lifts were being installed noise levels were very low.
My husband and I have just spent a week at the Hotel Concorde in Las Palmas , Gran Canaria. This hotel is in an ideal situation, a five minute walk from Santa Catalina bus station and a two minute walk to the beautiful Las Canteras beach. The hotel’s staff are fantastic in all areas, from reception to housekeeping and staff in the restaurant. They all couldn’t have been more helpful. Our room 411, was modern and very clean, and very quite. The dining room has beautiful views over the beach and beyond. Breakfast is a buffet and consists of many choices. My husband stated “ the coffee is the best he has ever had in a Hotel”. We were half board and had dinner in the evening, which was also buffet style. There was a selection of food, but not up to the standard of breakfast. Although you could always fine something to eat. The soups are highly recommended. The swimming pool on the roof, benefits from lovely views, it is generally quite with a good selection of sun beds and parasols. Whilst we were in Las Palmas the Carnival was on, we went every evening to watch the various acts in the stage area at Santa Catalina Park. The carnival runs from 1 st February - 1st March, and is well supported by the people of Las Palmas. We would recommend staying at the Hotel Concorde , particularly if you like smaller type hotels with lots of Spanish people also having a holiday, which we do. We would happily stay here again if we ever return to the area.…
The hotel was in an amazing position just seconds away from the wonderful beach that was well maintained and clean with good facilities all around. The city has lots to do with even more as it was carnival month. I would certainly recommend and hope to return. When we arrived we were disappointed to see maintenance work being carried out to the lift with loud drilling and banging. We were told it would only be between 10.30 and 3.30 but it did start some morning's at 9.30. I understand work has to be carried out but it would have been nice to have been informed before our arrival by our tour operator. The room was clean and comfortable and the bathroom looked like it had been recently upgraded with an excellant shower. The breakfast was OK with plenty to choose from but the hot selection wasn't always up to temperature so best to arrive early. The views from the restaurant were beautiful. The pool area also had beautiful views but was in need of renovating and we didn't use it due to the on going work, drilling and dust. The staff in the hotel were all helpful, friendly and polite. On our 3rd day a large group of teenage girls from a volleyball team arrived and were very noisy. Although not then hotels fault I think it would have been better for them to have been placed together to minimse disruption to other guests. Hopefully if the renovation work continues to the hotel it will be greatly improved.…
