This hotel makes an impression from the moment you enter the lobby. Set in an old art deco cinema this modern design hotel has kept some original references to it's big screen past. This was the perfect base for exploring the city of Palma. It's adjacent to the main railway station making a day trip quick and easy. Also, it's...

Good hotel... and spotlessly clean. Got a great deal on hotels.com on the price. Really good location (unless you want to be down by the seafront with the horrible nightclubs and nasty expensive tourist-only restaurants). Literally a two minute walk to the main shopping streets. Front-desk Staff were really helpful. Stayed there for two weeks and was very comfortable there....

Our room has been very stylish - on the 9th floor with a view on busy Palma's streets, unusual lights and decorations, good quality furniture. The not so good parts were that you could hear cars from the road, and some basic details were not so well thought in the room, e.g. there were almost no electricity sockets accessable. There...

A hip lobby with nice Mies van der Rohe, Eames or Nogushi furniture is not enough to make any stay a good one. Honestly, I have to say I really liked this hotel because we had a comfortable premium room but we faced far too many problems to make it a fully enjoyable experience and allow a 4 star rating...

The hotel is right on Plaza de Espana, so the train and metro stations as well as the bus are very near by and also the shopping area of Palma. The drawback is that you can't open the windows due to the loud traffic on the street. The room was small but ok with somewhat stylish furniture. The breakfast room...

Location right beside bus station so getting to airport etc is easy. Our room was large. Free safe was great and mini bar could be used to keep our early morning orange juice-no auto debit in it. Staff friendly and hotel cafe reasonable prices. Would strongly recommend as only 15 minute walk to the sea front

This hotel is rated 4 star, although the price suggests it does not carry a 4 star offering or price. Unfortunately it is not situate close to the sea front or the many restaurants and visitor attractions in the more attractive parts of Palma catering for the leisure tourist. It appears to cater more for the business traveller rather than...

This hotel is overrated. I stayed here for one week at the beginning of July, and I was not very impressed with the hotel amenities compared to North American standards. The wireless internet connection is very slow and it's complimentary (not free). Only 24 hours of internet access valid for 5 days are given for free, and I was unable...

Upon arriving at the hotel, it took three attempts, with three different room cards to access our room. Upon access, there was no soap or toilet paper, however the housekeeping staff were quick to respond. My husband then tried to use the hotel safe, after 30 minutes still no luck, he contacted reception and they went through the procedure to...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Hotel UR Palacio Avenida is a modern establishment, which opened its doors in 2009 after being carefully refurbished by the well-known architect Bruno Borrione, member of the Philippe Starck team. The result of his hard work was a perfect balance between comfort and design. The materials used and the great details that went into the conversion of this emblematic building, which originally and since 1942 had been the Cinema Avenida, to the current day UR Palacio Avenida, have led to the hotel being a highly considered boutique hotel in the city. The hotel remains open all year round and offers a personalised service to both businessmen and those who simply wish to enjoy their holidays. Its central location, with direct access to public transport makes it easy to reach any part of the island.A few meters away from the hotel is located the largest public parking of the city and only 300 meters away, is located the Hotel UR Mision de San Miguel where a private parking is available for hotel guests of both hotels (costs apply). The Hotel UR Palacio Avenida has 68 rooms, with extraordinary natural light, views of the centre of Palma de Mallorca and modern furnishing, which cares for the smallest detail. The hotel also offers a coffee shop. Wireless Internet access in all areas of the building and a safety deposit box in the room are both free of charge. The modular conference rooms cover a total of 200m2 and have been perfectly designed to meet the needs of any event meeting, banquet, conference or presentation. The modern and comfortably furnished rooms can be divided by mobile panels and are also equipped with internet access, air conditioning, a projector and large screen, and direct access to an exterior terrace which is ideal for coffee breaks.Due to the unique location of the hotel, guests can enjoy the main shopping areas and cultural activities, excursions, golf, restaurants, etc. Also from the hotel reception can be arranged any special request of the guest, boat trips, rent a car, excursions around the island, winery tours, visit to the Caves of Drach, etc.For guests who wish a more personalized service Private Concierge is also available. ... more   less
