I know this is a hostel, I'm a single traveler, so what do I want with a room with 3 beds crammed in. Hardly a place to sit. Bathroom was ok, except for the shower curtain. Much noise from other rooms, late in the evening and early in the morning. Musty smell in room , bad Wifi. Breakfast wasn't much... More

We overnighted in San Sebastian on our way from Bordeaux to Madrid. San Sebastian is a pretty sea-side town and beach resort with outstanding panoramic views from the hills opposite the beach. The hotel is centrally located and convenient to stroll along the beach and visit the colourful town centre. The bedroom overlooked a side-street and was spacious and comfortable.... More

We stopped here for the night travelling back from Valencia. Situated just a street away from the seafront, perfect for strolling along the promenade to the centre which was just a 5 to 10 minutes walk. The staff here were friendly and helpful, particularly the young guy who checked us in. Room was of average size but very comfortable and... More

The hotel is lovely!! It's two blocks from La Concha beach and about 2/3 mile walk to the Old Town where most of the fun and delicious is. The people at the reception desk were nice and helpful and the interior room was very quiet. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was quite nice. The hotel was expensive... More

Hostal Alemana lacked the class we were looking for in San Sebastián. First off it felt more like a school retreat than a hotel. The rooms were basic with extremely cramped bathrooms and dated upholstery. The mini bar was well stocked but inefficient and did not cool drinks adequately. Our room was opposite a 24 hour kiosk that served as... More

This hotel is very well located in just close to the beach and few minutes walking from the centre. The staff in the reception were very friendly and professional. The hotel is clean, simple and comfortable. I didn't try the breakfast.

This hostel is in a great location - very close to the beach and easy to get around San Sebastián. The rooms are nothing special, just the basics which is fine. Upon booking I noted the reviews regarding noise due to the thin walls. I thought it can't be that bad but I actually is that bad. We may have... More

We drove into San Sebastián late afternoon and arrived at Hostal Alemana. We ended up stopping on a side street as we arrived by car and one of us ran up (the hotel is on the 1st floor not the main floor) to check in and find out where to park. The parkade is in the basement of another hotel;... More

We stayed here on our way home and before taking the ferry from Bilbao. Fantastic location just 50 meters from the centre of the La Concha beach and only a ten minute walk to the old town. Only downside is dropping your luggage and getting the car parking instructions as the hotel in on a main road and there are... More

A lovely hostel right in the centre of San Sebastian yards from the beach. We were very pleasantly surprised this was comfortable spacious and clean. Lovely bathroom and a comfortable bed. Only draw back as the Leonard cohen song goes is that "The walls of this hotel are paper thin". We could hear when next door got a text message,... More
