Like all Sol Melia Hotels I have stayed in, they really do try, but they just never get to attain an "excellent hotel" for the price . We had problems checking in, which were resolved, and the room was very nice. The concierge was AWESOME- he was from Eastern Europe and made us great arrangements for us and knew the city very well. Breakfast was awesome. The bar and restaurant were OK as was the lounge which had food and beverages. Again, it was very nice, just not a "leading hotel" and overpriced for the amenities.
Stayed for 4 nights in February and had a wonderful time. Excellent staff, highly professional and attentive. Hotel is beautiful and well maintained, breakfast provides lots of choice. Hotel is well situated, the historic area is just minutes away. We would recommend the hotels restaurant for Tapas!
Arrived on the 13th March, just before the city lockdown. The concierge was very helpful in advising on tourist attractions that were available. We dined at El Burladero which was excellent service and good food. Also dined at the hotel’s tapas restaurant a couple of times due to the lockdown. The tapas restaurant had a good selection and the food was excellent. We chose to have breakfast at the hotel, which had a good selection, our waiter Alendrejo was very attentive without being intrusive. The bedrooms was clean and comfortable. A few previous reviews suggested the shower was a problem. I didn’t find the shower being in the bathtub a problem at all. The hotel is well cited for restaurants, bars and small supermarkets. The cathedral is a short walk away. The hotel’s gym is small but adequate, the roof top pool adds a lovely relaxing area - we spent our last two days of our city break there, due to being confined to the hotel in the lockdown. There were only a handful of guests left in the hotel so there was enough room but imagine during peak times it would be congested. However for us we welcomed the beautiful views and a relaxing space in the quiet city. The hotel had instructions to shut down at midday on our last day, which alarmed me as our flight was in the evening and I worried about being stranded in a city shutdown . Andrea Fernandez, member of management was excellent , Agreed to stay open till 5pm, let us have use of our bedrooms till 5pm and even switched the electricity back on so we could shower before we headed to the airport! Andrea obviously sensing my worry even gave me her personal mobile in case our flight was cancelled. I cannot thank the management & staff enough. Overall this is a hotel, I will definitely return to and thoroughly recommend. Well done Gran Amelia Colon - you made us feel very special in what was due to be a celebration holiday - we will return to your beautiful hotel and city to have another stab at celebrating !…
We stayed at the Hotel three nights an excellent experience the staff we’re outstanding, service, cleanliness could not be faulted. The Hotel is in a good location adding to a very positive experience in Seville
A perfect location for a short break in Seville. The hotel is nicely appointed with a well-equipped gym and a fabulous heated pool on the roof with great views of the City. Breakfast was very good with a selection of European and Oriental dishes and a menu of dishes cooked to order. My only criticism of the hotel would be that the fake Nespresso pods served with the Nespresso machines in the rooms were horrible and let the hotel down. There are many places to eat nearby and the concierge facility was very useful for booking tickets and general advice. All the staff were very friendly and polite and were a credit to the management.
