The Hesperia Granada hotel is an elegant old building with an unbeatable location, right in the historic heart of Granada. It’s a short walk to the city’s most popular tourist spots, and it’s also very close to the city hall and the business district. Plus, you can walk to the Alhambra Palace in around 20 minutes.

The hotel was in an excellent location to explore Granada. The room was fairly small but well furnished - lovely bathroom. The room was very clean. The breakfast was excellent, with a vast choice from the buffet! We had a little noise from the street below but nothing too bad!

We had a Superior room, all of the superior rooms are located a the front of the hotel, we were staying for 3 nights. The noise from the cafés and bars below was intolerable and went on to past 3 am. I asked for a room change to a quieter room and was told there were only standard rooms available. We moved to the standard room which was very standard no coffee maker and very basic. Also no offer of a reduction for the following two nights, I did however manage to persuade them to let me have a coffee machine which they did very reluctantly. Parking €20 a night phew!!! I know we have a Covid issue but the breakfast offering at the Hesperia was appalling, Coffee, Orange juice Croissant, bread and jam and an apple . All the other hotels on my tour so far of Andalucía have done far far better.

Written accepting they are unusual times. We were booked in for three nights from Friday 13th March in Superior Rooms. which were based at front of hotel. On the first night the noise outside was unbelievable and at 1.30am the laundry service arrived - Felt the lorry was coming into our bedroom. Went to reception and they advised it was normal to come at 11.30pm but offered no apology for the noise. There was noise from street cleaning, bins being emptied, Individuals returning home etc etc. DO NOT HAVE ROOMS AT FRONT OF HOTEL if you want to sleep. On Saturday the City was going into lockdown. We were not updated on events and the Hotel could not provide any food outside breakfast. Thank goodness the catering in the restaurant allowed us to make up provisions. The two members of staff were helpful in the breakfast room and pleasant more than could be said for the reception area. From Sunday we were restricted on entering the City - No information from the reception . We ate the provisions in full view of the reception staff on Sunday and Monday and during this period there no guidance on the situation or offers of hot drinks or food. On Monday we were no flying until 9pm - breakfast no hot food offered - categorically told the breakfast room was closed at 10am - and to add insult to injury when we asked about extending the room beyond noon. (remember very few quests now) we were informed that it was 15 Euro until 2pm or 30 Euro until 4pm. The only option was to sit in the reception area as we were not supposed to go out. THE ONLY OFFER was bottled water which they reluctantly replenished when asked. ON Monday we aware there was a manager in the hotel who kept coming out of his office and walked around the edge of the reception area never speaking to any guests. PLEASE AVOID THIS HOTEL
