What a find, a great quirky place to stay, Jesus and Mercedes greeted us, lovely people, very helpful, gave us information about what was happening in the town, very comfortable bed, own fridge and microwave, super breakfast, mostly homemade and tasted superb,no parking on site but able to park not far away and walk,it's a bit hilly but well worth... El Cobijo de Vejer is a real gem and offers you an experience no luxury hotel can compete with. Yes, the rooms are on the smaller side and traditional definition of luxury doesn't apply. However what you find here is much better and can be summarised as individuality, passion for customer service and love to detail. A beautifully renovated old... More

This is an amazing find!! Love it here! My fiancé and I and our little 5 month old son booked this for three nights and wow we were not disappointed! From the moment we got here Jésus was warm and friendly and offered us some cold beers. The Zahara apartment was spotlessly clean and its decor really echoes the Moorish... More

That's the name of the guy who owns it!! He's amazing, the place is amazing & my girlfriend & I both had an amazing time. Upon our arrival we were met by an incredibly warm welcome & smile, then shown to our room. Waiting there for us was some homemade cake and a bottle of Cava. The room was fantastic... More

This was one of the nicest places we stayed in our month tour of Spain. Our room had a small terrace with beautiful views of this lovely quaint town. Although a quite compact 2 floor arrangement; the kitchen and terrace was up a narrow stairway, we had everything we needed. Breakfast was fabulous! Gluten free options were well addressed! Our... This is a small Moorish style inn in the lovely "pueblo blanco" of Vejer de la Frontera about 30 minutes from Cadiz. It is much better to stay here than Cadiz, as you are closer to some truly spectacular beaches and the town itself is as charming as they come in Spain: Onto the hotel: though it is indeed a... After climbing the many steps to reach El Cobijo, we were greeted by our host Jesus. He quickly told us we could upgrade our room at no extra charge if we wanted to. He showed us our booked room, which was quite small, but well equipped. Then showed us two other rooms, both had roof terrace and outside seating areas.... More

I can't say enough about the owners Jesus and Marche - very helpful by email beforehand, very attentive and sweet during our stay but not at all intrusive, provided us with an umbrella when we said we were going to the beach, gave me one of those mosquito plugs when mentioned I needed a pharmacy for my bites, and made... A great find, a quirky place with great views of the town. Our room was spacious and well equipped with a small fridge, kettle and microwave. The decor had a North African hippy vibe. Our hosts were polite and attentive yet not intrusive. Breakfast was excellent with home made bread, pate and preserves. It is a nightmare to find and... More

This was my favourite hotel in my trip because of a combination of the wonderful staff, the lovely breakfast, the beautiful decor and charm of the house, the amazing town.. This hotel is the best. There were amazing views of the town from my room. The hotel lent us an umbrella for the beach which was incredibly useful and appreciated,... More

“We were very pleased with the Xaouen and Tarifa rooms, since we wanted kitchenettes. Xaouen is more spacious and a floor higher with a terrace, whereas Tarifa is a studio with a terrace plus a little sheltered seating area, still with a great view. The tight spiral staircase in Xaouen and the built in double bed in Tarifa add to the charm, but are best suited to guests with no mobility issues. Not familiar with other rooms, but all would enjoy the beautiful little patio with lovely flowers.”
