Detailed Reviews
We booked a suit for a family of 4. The room and bathroom was very spacious. We were greeted with complementary sparkling wine in the room, fruits, water and a little bag of bath products to take away. The staff was very welcoming and friendly (except for the waiter at breakfast). Overall a very good value for money.

I stayed at the Senator Spa Hotel in Cadiz for two nights in February and I would completely recommend it. We got the train from Jerez Airport and walked the short distance from the train station.
Location wise, for me it was perfect, close to the station, as already mentioned, and near to many cafes and restaurants. There is a very nice Italian restaurant on the doorstep and a café right next door to it (the restaurant) as well.
The hotel smells lovely when you walk in, not sure if it’s from the spa, but something I have never noticed in any other hotel!
We didn’t have breakfast there, but the hotel overall and the room were very clean and the beds comfortable. It had a free safe, tea and coffee making facilities, with hair dryer and toiletries provided. There are no steps that I encountered, we were on the fifth floor and took the lift up.
The female receptionist who checked us in was very smiley and helped us get our bearings on the map, recommending places to eat and visit.
Thank you, Senator Hotel!

The hotel’s location is very good. Right in the city center, direct access to commercial streets, bars, restaurants. All in a pedestrian area. We enjoyed the fact that although it is central, the rooms are quiet and we weren’t at all bothered by noises from the street.
The breakfast was excellent and, in my opinion, well worth the price. There are 3 different buffets, cold, hot, eggs, crepes, fruits, céréales, fresh orange juice and Nespresso coffee!
The pool is not very big but still very enjoyable and the rooftop terrasse is very nice too!
The staff was very friendly.
Regarding the rooms, I would rate them average. We had a family room and surprisingly, the 2 double beds were right next to each other. As a result, it’s like the whole family is sleeping in the same bed :/
I found the mattress too hard. The bathroom was huge, almost same size as the bedroom :)

We stayed in the Senator Cadiz Spa hotel for 2 nights after spending some time in Seville.
As mentioned in previous reviews the first thing the receptionist staff say is we can upgrade your room for a small charge.
Firstly, we paid what i consider alot of money for 2 nights bed and breakfast at this hotel. Therefore, the first impression is that there must be something “low rent” about the room we will be allocated.
As it happened there were issues with the room we were allocated. If we opened the window it was too noisy from people outside (small bar on street level). If we closed window and turned on the ceiling fan that created no air circulation. Also in February we were told air con is not working. Needless to say it was “too hot to sleep”.
The breakfast was lovely, no problem with that.

Not even left the Hotel and I felt annoyed enough to write a review on what on the website looks a good hotel but in reality is 1 star if that.
Do not know where to start.
No mini bar, one supplied but no drinks nothing.
The air conditioning is either freezing cold or hot no option to choose the temp as the wall mounted controls were broken and in the words of reception do not work properly and maintenance can come and look at it if i want.
Toilet paper and basic necessities are not refilled so we are trying to find the number to call for more at 12.30 at night having just come back in from dinner.
The double bed we asked for as a couple is 2 single beds pushed together and you slip between the 2 if in the middle.
Staff randomly entering the room without knocking or announcing themselves.
Plus the main reason we booked the Senator is the spa and that was fully booked as they make no priority to guests and sell all the places to anyone outside the Hotel as well.
Would recomend looking anywhere else. 4 star. They are lucky I gave 2 out of 5 - 1 star would be more suitable.
Shocking stay and very disappointed with how crap the Senator turned out to be

In my opinion this is not a four star hotel. It was very tired, old fashioned and a bit weird overall! The staff were constantly trying to up sell, we had already booked a superior room so weren’t interested. The room was large but dated with curtains hanging off the rail and towels which had seen too many trips to the laundry plus chairs from a retirement home. Breakfast was poor, food is located in 3 different rooms which meant walking across the lobby area with your plate to access any hot food, which was not very appetising. Crockery was chipped and very few staff to clean up plates etc. Roof top pool area was ok but no bar and not very interesting, just a bit of fake grass and a small pool. We really liked Cadiz and this is a great location with lots of good bars, restaurants and sights within easy walking distance, just don’t expect too much from the hotel.

We love the Hotel Senator in Cadiz and always receive a warm welcome from Victor and the other member of the team there. They go out of their way to make our stay as comfortable and problem free as possible, with all our enquiries dealt with in a professional and friendly fashion.
We chose this Hotel because of its location at the heart of the Old Town, plus the facilities, such as the pool and roof terrace. We've always had breakfast in the Hotel and it has never disappointed. The chef is always on hand to cook up that extra pancake, crepe or omelette if required. We always look forward to our stay at the Hotel Senator in Cadiz.

We stayed for 14 nights in a very spacious superior 2nd floor room in the front of the hotel. The room was very quite , plus at night it was almost total blackout so you had a good night sleep on the wide comfortable beds. Wonderful bathroom and shower .The mini bar frig was handy to put drinks and food to keep chilled.
All the staff were very helpful , friendly and professional. they always gave you time when asking a question.
The rooftop swimming pool is delightful , the temperature for me was prefect to cool off and to swim in. I would recommend to have a cool shower which is by the pool first. The views of the city rooftops are also breathe taking.
The food was of a high standard when we had lunch and dinner there.
Location . well , no need to walk far to get a drink, a meal or to see the sights. Everything is within easy reach , 5 mins to the Town Hall Plaza , and 10 mins to the Cathedral and its relaxing plaza. Its a wonderful city with friendly people and excellent seafood.
Excellent hotel and well worth the paying for a superior room.

Senator Cadiz (part of a chain of 41) is a well run hotel right in the centre of old Cadiz. It is an old styled hotel and is relaxed. The hotel is well managed and run. The staff are competent and helpful. The breakfast buffet and hot food counter are very good, except for poor bacon.
There was a prolonged problem with the link for payment. It necessitated three (expensive) phone calls to a central reservations office. Our standard room had ample space with large beds and a window onto a narrow but quiet street. The large bathroom had the shower in a bath and a bidet. Avoid rooms close to elevators or with doors to link rooms; we had noisy neighbours for two nights. There is a shortage of electric plugs close to the beds which necessitated an extension lead. The bar area is unappealing with a limited daytime menu. There is no concession for guests at the fine spa within the hotel. The small unheated rooftop swimming pool with hydro jets was refreshing. Unfortunately the pool is not supervised , allowing unruly behaviour by two children. We really enjoyed our stay.

The Senator Cadiz Spa Hotel provides excellent accommodation and is centrally located for easy access walking into the beautiful historical centre. The bus and rail transport are also easily accessible, providing good transport links for day trips into the surrounding area. The breakfast dining room was spacious and comfortable and the buffet style breakfast was generous with a wide range of hot and cold foods. The staff were friendly and helpful. It was also my birthday while in Cadiz and there was a lovely bottle of complimentary cava for me in our room, which was a lovely thoughtful gesture.
