Detailed Reviews

The hotel's location is perhaps one of its best attributes: two blocks from an excellent beach, close to several establishments, half an hour's walk from the historic center and half the time by bus (line 1 for 1.10 euros).
Arriving by car via 32 or 36 is very easy; Those coming by train get off at the central station and from there take bus line 1 or the surface train to Aguada station.
The hotel has a partnership with San José parking and has a special price with them, 10 euros per night. For a simple and quick disembarkation, it is possible to stop in front of the hotel and check in, but not for more than 20 minutes.
It's a 3* hotel, so you shouldn't expect much and it fulfills its role in this way, with efficient cleaning, very polite and attentive staff, somewhat comfortable rooms, even with a big difference between them, including the refurbished ones - if If available, ask for an exchange. There are no beach towels for guests.
Booking directly on the hotel page, the guest receives a gift: bottle of wine, fruit basket or minibar. For 220 euros/night, the guest should receive ALL the gifts and not pay for parking...
The individual rooms are tiny, those facing the back of the hotel are noisy due to the small square, those facing the front are very hot and air conditioning is necessary.
The internet works well when it doesn't fluctuate, which happens rarely.
The breakfast is extremely basic and even frustrating for 10 euros. The juices are inedible, they are so bad, the natural orange juice is expensive (2.50 euros), the pastries are tasteless and come from Carrefour opposite, the ham is thinner than a hair, the yogurt is at temperature environment...
The hotel's problem is actually usury, that is, the daily rate.
The 4* Meliá 500m in front of the beach charges 15% less in the summer, a boutique hotel in the biggest and trendiest Seville or an AC Marriott in the less visited Almería costs half as much: charge more than 200 euros in the summer for a 3* simple is exorbitantly ridiculous and you get the feeling that you have paid too much for what you receive!
Once you agree on the price, everything is fine, 100 euros/night is much more than fair. Other than that, it's a good choice for old and pleasant Cadiz.

We were very warmly greeted on arrival at the hotel and found cava and chocolates awaiting us in the room. (Booking direct allows you to choose a gift!). The room was very comfortable with efficient air conditioning, a safe and a fridge. Sadly the balcony had been glazed so was a little warm even with the window open! On the plus side, it did sound proof the room from the road. The bathroom had an opaque glass door which was a little strange but the lovely, powerful shower and thick towels made up for that quirk!
The breakfast buffet had lots of bread, cheese, ham, salami and a range of pastries, cakes, brioche etc. There was also plenty of fruit and a small amount of hot food. Each place setting included your own tongs to use to pick up everything - not sure if it started due to Covid but what an excellent idea!
The hotel is about 3-4 minute walk from a lovely, long sandy beach with a wide promenade divided into pedestrian and cycling sections. There were a number of restaurants nearby but many were deserted - perhaps too early in the season.
The railway station was a 30 minute walk or bus number 1 takes you there for only 1 euro 10. We walked along the sea front promenade to the old town which took about 35 minutes then after a day exploring the town got bus number 7 back.
It was our first time in Cadiz it's a beautiful place. We particularly liked the buzz in the market with its huge range of food and drink places. Although there are more central hotels, we really liked the Regio.

+1
The hotel is located on the main road to the city center, which you can't hear from even the rooms located there, and it's 3 minutes from the beach. The beach location is what makes the prices explode above normal levels - at least in high season. 4-star hotels right on the beach cost just as much. I therefore don't think the price-performance ratio is appropriate. While the lobby and breakfast room have already been renovated (judging by the pictures, some of the rooms and bathrooms have too), most of the rooms and bathrooms are very small and have the standard of the 1960s. Although the first room was really tiny, we were fortunately able to change. The breakfast didn't completely convince us either. Fresh orange juice costs extra, but the selection is pretty limited overall. The individual tongs, which are surely a leftover from the Corona measures, are annoying. The deal with the parking garage next door for 10€/day is good.

Hotel Regio Cadiz front desk staff has poor service skills, unfrriendly (sometimes just rude), and obviously they do NOT like speaking English. So, only speak Spanish here, if you can, and you may be a bit more welcomed. The WIFI service here was terrible, and during a 3-night stay I could barely get online no matter what time of day I tried (I'm talking literally minutes for online pages to even load) Most of the online ads show this hotel with "free parking" - it's NOT - and they need to make sure that is changed on all the sites where their rooms are advertised online. The parking cost is reasonable at €10,00 and it's close to the hotel which has a good location, but the cost should be clearly noted. Overall, it was a very disappointing and at many times a frustrating experience in my experience... even more disheartening during the Christmas holiday season. I would NOT recommend this hotel, as there are many other choices in Cádiz. By the way ... it's a fabulous city to visit!

This hotel is located on the main avenue of the modern area of Cádiz, a very short distance from Playa de la Victoria, near the hospital and relatively close to the football stadium. It is a little further from the historic center, although it can be reached on foot in 20 minutes and there are several urban bus lines that stop very close to the hotel and take you to the center in a few minutes.
The attention of the staff was excellent, not only did they correctly attend to the questions we asked them, but they also behaved very kindly towards us, especially towards our eleven-year-old son. I lack words to express our gratitude for the treatment they gave us. We arrived at the hotel very early, before the room was ready, and asked if we could leave our suitcases. The guy at reception picked them up for us and upon our return they gave us the room, we asked about the suitcases and they had already taken them up to us. As it was carnival and our son was dressed up, the guy at the reception also recommended that he paint some blush on his cheeks to look like another Cádiz native.
The room was a good size and clean. The bathroom had a bathtub, hand soap, small bottles with gel and shampoo, a hair dryer, and a part where we assume that it is prepared to clean the sand if we have just come from the beach, because there was a register where the water coming out of a tap on the wall.
The room had a practical closet with hangers, shelves and a safe; refrigerator, table as a desk with chair, flat television that supports USB, Wi-Fi internet signal with sufficient power, and a terrace that overlooked the avenue along which the carnival parade took place. We enjoyed watching this parade sitting from this glazed terrace. Despite being on such an important street, we did not notice any disturbing noises while sleeping. The beds were quite comfortable.
Breakfast was very good, complete and varied. Offers milk, coffee, hot water for infusions; juice; boiled and scrambled eggs with bacon; jelly beans, clouds, conguitos; various types of sweets such as ensaimada, donut of various types, filled buns, bread with a variety of spreads; yogurts, fruit and a variety of sausages. Very complete, any client will be able to find things to their liking.
This hotel is a very good place to stay if you go to Cádiz at any time, and especially in summer, with the beach within walking distance, and during carnival to enjoy the costume parade from the room. By the way, we left the hotel at dawn to take our plane and they had prepared some bags for us to take with us for breakfast, although they were warned that we were leaving at that time. Everything we can say is good about this hotel.

The hotel is situated ideally for the beach. The room was of a fair standard with a small bathroom.
The issue we had was that the hot breakfast that was on offer was cold. The bacon was under cooked the scrambled egg was dry and cold. Storing food at these low temperatures is dangerous and very risky to health. This was immediately reported to the reception who offered different food. Unfortunately by this time my appetite was gone. My partner had a cold continental breakfast. Unfortunately this was not kept cold, and the member of staff in the dining room was seen to be swatting flys over the food.
This has to be the worst experience of breakfast I have ever had. On check out I questioned why I was being charged for a breakfast I had not had only to be fobbed off with an excuse from the receptionist stating they did not have the authority to cancel the charge. When I asked to speak to the manager , unsurprisingly the manager was not in the hotel. A dreadful experience and I would recommend that you find you breakfast out of the hotel.

Dear guest, Thank you to leave an opinion about your stay. For us is very important your comment about our locaion in town and hotel in general. We are sorry about negative comment. There was a punctual problem and we try to resolve it. In fact you made breakfast service ( toasts, coffee...etc ) and the recepcionist offerred to you hot products again but you didn´t take it. We understand the first bad impression. Regarding what he comments about the fly, our partner was not squashing it in the food, he was scaring it away, which is not the same. In his house, when it is hot, there are also flies, it is not a problem of the hotel. Our facilities are well maintained, you can see other opinions. Sorry again and we expect to attend you in another time.

The hotel staff were super accommodating and because of covid they couldn't do buffet style but they give you a menu with the works and have a table ready for when you told them you'd come down and everything was great! We got a bed for 2 and it had a cute little balcony with a mini table and 2 chairs. The shower and everything was great and everything was very clean. Lastly, the hotel is located right on the main avenue and a great spot near several restaurants, a block away from the beach with great sunsets, and other retail stores.

The hotel is very well located, on the second line of the beach. Next to good restaurants, hospital, pharmacies, shops and public transport to the historic center, which takes no more than 15 minutes to reach. The car park with which the hotel has an agreement is a 3-minute walk away, has 24-hour security, and is very economical, compared to the prices charged in Spanish car parks. The room was very clean and the bathroom has an intimate shower, something that I found very useful. The staff is super friendly and helpful, especially Mr Alejandro at reception, who, in addition to trying to speak Portuguese, even though I spoke Spanish, gave us recommendations on how to get around Cádiz, where to eat and where to drink. Negative points, the room was very hot and not at all soundproof. Even though the air conditioning worked, if it wasn't always on, as it was on the top floor, all glazed and facing south, it became an authentic greenhouse. If I stayed longer than 2 days, I probably would have asked to move. I believe that given the availability of the hotel, there would have been no problem. Still, if I could go back (and stay in another room, I would choose the same hotel).

The Regio is a clean, well located budget hotel, with excellent access to the old town & within 5 minutes walk of the beach.
We stayed for 3 nights & our top floor room with balcony was suitable for our needs.
The breakfast was plentiful & catered for all tastes.
Access to the old town was easily accomplished via the regular bus service that ran past the hotel.
Car parking was available at an extra cost at a nearby garage.

We were greeted by cava (sparkling wine on ice) and chocolates even though we booked only a standard room. Decent hotel a short walk from Playa Victoria beach. I would stay there again. Booking on their website allowed me to choose my welcome gift and also select my actual room. Also included was a free walking tour of old town with a guide.
We had a double room with two single beds. The room was small, but they did a great job efficiently using the space, fitting in a fridge and suitcase rack by the door. No iron in the room, but they brought one upon request. The bathroom was well lit and had a window. The hot water came on quickly. The mattress wasn't the most comfortable, but totally fine for a couple nights.
The balcony was more like a little sunroom because it was enclosed, and it was big enough for two people to eat comfortably. The large windows on the balcony provided great views on Avenida Ana de Viya and opened up for a great breeze. We were able to dry our swimsuits there. We did not notice any street noise with the door to the balcony closed.
The blonde lady working the front desk was super nice and helpful. The housekeeping lady did a great job too.
The city bus takes only cash but makes change. The bus stop was super convenient within 100 meters of the hotel. At the time of this writing, the fare was EUR1.10 per person to get to old town Cadiz. Once there, everything is very walkable.

Estimado cliente,
