The hotel is in a great location on the Paseo Marítimo overlooking playa de la Victoria and I have been meaning to stay here for years so when I managed to get a good price I jumped at the opportunity. The stay was mixed with some good and bad points but mostly I enjoyed my stay.

Checkin was pretty quick and allocated room with a side view of the beach on the 8th floor. The room itself was spacious but the décor and furniture is dated and worn and has seen better days which was a shame. There is plenty of wardrobe and cupboard space and lots of coat hangers which was a plus, also the room was very clean. The bed was very comfortable with soft linens and I slept very well.

The bathroom was large and had a separate room where the toilet was located for privacy , towels were nice and small selection of soaps and gels as you would expect. The overhead shower in the bath worked fine and powerful enough and easy to use.

The outside balcony was bigger than I expected and perfect to sit and have a glass of wine or a beer while the sun goes down and watch the world go by. Also the room service menu was not bad value at all and very reasonably priced, mixed salad €6.50 / cheese + ham sandwich €4.50 / club sandwich €9.50

Breakfast exceeded my expectations and was included in my rate. The buffet was very generous, everything you would expect and there was even cava ! The cooked items were all delicious, plenty of cold meats and cheeses, pastries and breads. The coffee was good too. Do grab a table on the outside terrace if there is room for the lovely view over the beach.

The staff were all helpful and friendly and spoke good English and other languages too ! The wi-fi was really awful and in this day and age of connectivity it really need to be a lot better and improved. Parking was € 18 a day in the garage but luckily I was able to park on a neighboring street as it was off season but in the summer it must be hard to find a spot (street parking is payable too) With a super new hotel opening on the other side of the street in 2023 the Hotel Playa Victoria will need to up it's game.

We arrived here to a large queue in reception, told to pay €17 per day for the underground parking, given a key and told to take ourselves up to the room from the car park!
The room was brightly colored but shabby with peeling wallpaper and small bathroom as other posts mentioned. We got stuck in the lift on day two and after a worrying 10 minutes we were rescued but not with much apology

However....
The location on the beach was great. Sea view was essential and stunning. The room was quiet and comfortable -a great base to get in and out of the old town. We took advice of another review and had breakfast next door for €13 rather than the €30 the hotel wanted.
To summarise I wouldn’t stay here for a two week beach holiday but as so long as the room rate is reasonable it’s a comfortable base for sightseeing in old Cadiz.

We stayed 3 nights in this hotel in room 310. We were 2 adults and child of 4 - room was big enough for all of us. There was a big balcony with incredible view on the sea. People at the reception were very helpful-the girl told us what to visit in Cadix and helped to booked Covid test for our flight back-it would be impossible without assistance due to language. Breakfast was soo good for price of 10 eur it was much more that we could expect

We really wanted to enjoy this two night stay in Cadiz but unfortunately the hotel spoiled the whole experience. Checking in took nearly an hour as the staff levels are woefully inadequate. We were told to sit down and wait until the receptionist was ready for us. When we finally got to our room it stank of cigarette smoke, the external doors didn’t seal so it was very noisy. Our booking stated that a mini bar was in the room, not something we normally go for but in every other hotel there is always some water available - not here, if you want water you have to pay for it at the bar and take it to your room.
We contacted reception to ask if we could have a refund for our second night and just go to another hotel but didn’t get any response until we got an email two days later when we arrived in Seville…
Definitely one to miss…..

We stayed in this hotel for two nights and it turned out to be what I expected and had read from the reviews.

First of all, very expensive, like all the hotels in Codice, but not at all worth the expense. From the outside it is an imposing and beautiful hotel but then if you look into the details you realize that it is only appearance.

First of all, it was very strange that at the reception the clerk who checked in had difficulty speaking English, a hotel like this should have people who also speak Italian but not being able to express oneself in English is a very big flaw.

We booked an ocean view room and the view was superb. The room was very spacious but with old furnishings where the shine of the furniture had disappeared. The upholstery of the dirty armchair and the lamp near the rusty armchair. Bah!!!! absurd ...

The well organized bathroom, all in marble, although old, well organized and clean (no bathrobes). Cleanliness that the room, however, lacked at all. Dust on the parquet everywhere, as if they hadn't swept for days. Which we also found on the second day so they limited themselves to making the bed and cleaning the bathroom...

For €250 per night, not even the beach service was included which we had to pay separately, however, with a large deposit, at least they provided beach towels.

On a positive note: the restaurant we tried for breakfast has a nice terrace overlooking the ocean and are well organized and the tables clean.
Good and well-stocked breakfast.

We took a taxi from Jerez de la Frontera and it was under a 30 min drive. The hotel has a great ocean view if you can get a room overlooking the ocean! The best thing about staying here is listening to the waves at night! Slept soundly! Tons of restaurants surrounding this hotel. It’s comfortable, staff is attentive and overall nice. The pool area is pretty big and you can sunbathe on the pool terrace as well.

I’m currently staying at this hotel and for 232 euro I would expect the internet to work along with the power plugs in the room. Also there is no trash can in the main area of the room. Perhaps there is a shortage of trash bins in Cadiz.

The pluses are great beach location, friendly staff, and on site parking for 18 euro a day. The room while basic is clean however the shower and tub don’t drain very well. The room has a mini fridge which is a great asset.

I stayed here July 2022 with my husband and our grandson. The hotel was spotless, all staff were polite and always willing to help. Food was EXCELLENT and plenty. The drinks were also of good quality. The pools were clean all the time and the entertainment team was extremely helpful, polite and always tried to include everyone. My grandson loved the playgroup that was offered twice a day and whilst he was there we joined in with the afternoon bingo which was good fun. In the evening again the entertainment team kept the children entertained and then the evening entertainment for the adults started about 9-9.15 which again was brilliant a good variety. There are two smallish supermarkets within walking distance 5 minutes but that's all. The bus is local and on time but takes a good 40 minutes to get to MAO where there are other shops but not too many and a market which was Ok but not like the markets we are used to. Would return again.

Our fourth visit to Cadiz and first to Hotel Victoria, after changing dates 3 times due to the pandemic, we wasn't disappointed. Reception was helpful, organised and efficient. Housemaids were very prompt and thorough. Breakfast was OK.
We had a suite with terrace and sunbeds which, although tired was comfortable (as referenced in previous reviews). Seaview rooms have afternoon sun, NW side have morning sun as well but all seaview rooms will see sunsets on the water, which can be very dramatic.
Local Chiringuitto and restaurants are good, Masalima was our favourite.
Although on the beach, opposite side of the hotel is on the square with direct access to the city and a short bus ride to Cadiz old town.
Can't wait for our regular visit back to Cadiz.

Spent three weeks there for a job at ROTA. Motel is old and dated. Put me in a front room but they're too cheap to run the AC chiller so if you open the window it's the all night party in the streets. I was here to work, not vacation. Very angry young lady finally moved me to the back of the hotel but wanted me to PAY$$$ big bucks, all the rooms suck, so why should I pay to get moved to the quiet part of the hotel. Most all the staff was pleasant and helpful but the desk staff is way out of line with the attitude. This problem was apparent on several issues, not just the room move. Just a tourist trap. Don't waste your time. Some old relic from the 70's and the angry lady at the reception just pushed things over the edge.

The pool is on the second level. There is no beach bar but you can go to the hotel bar and bring drinks to the beach. There are beach bars about 5 min down the beach.
