Nice room (on the 6th floor - my wish granted) with a great view for me, big room with 2 extra beds for the family, very friendly table, charming little bar, breakfast in the cosy, big lounge (with huge windows and a great view, too), everything clean and efficient. An excellent Motel One experience. This house is one of my favorites (and I am a frequent traveler, for business and leisure).

If you book at a Motel One you already did the right hung before you’ve even left home.

This particular MO has a unique entrance with exquisite paintings on the wall. The reception take their time in welcoming you and explaining what’s necessary.

The location is amazing and the rooms a great size and very clean. We booked a room with a terrace which was (unfortunately) meant for handicapped people. This sort of put a damper on the bathroom ambiance but the space we had was therefor just amazing. The handicapped person would not be able to access the terrace however which didn’t make much sense to me.

The rooftop bar is just spectacular and the prices for the drinks reasonable.

Al in all great experience

Friendly staff at the reception of the Motel One Augustusplatz; you pay when you check in, good value for money. We had two rooms, facing the back, so it was absolutely quiet. The standard room is relatively small, but practically furnished with open shelves, clothes rail for hanging clothes, shower room, everything very clean. The second room was larger with an additional couch and large wardrobe, comfortable, relatively firm mattresses. You could easily stay in the room for longer. Good breakfast, in my opinion the cheese selection could have been larger (with whole cheese, not just sliced cheese). The breakfast room quickly gets crowded from 9 a.m. onwards, so you have to plan on waiting until you get a table; considerate breakfast staff. No coffee machine in the rooms, but you can buy a cup of coffee/tea in the afternoon in the Motel One bar (separate entrance). You can't drive directly to the hotel, but you can stop about 50m away on Ritterstrasse and unload your luggage. Your passengers can then take it to the hotel while you drive the car into the Q-Park underground car park on Augustusplatz (special rate for hotel guests). The hotel is very conveniently located behind St. Nicholas Church - the market, St. Thomas Church, the opera house and the Gewandhaus are all within walking distance, as are the trams at the nearby Augustusplatz.

2 nights in the Special One room facing the back courtyard. We had two very quiet nights. The location is perfect, right in the center of the city. Public transport stops very close by. Parking in the underground garage at the nearby Augustusplatz is discounted by the hotel, great!
The staff at reception and at breakfast (very good, everything organic, plenty of choice but not overloaded, finally no pre-mixed muesli) were super nice. The mattresses were a bit saggy. But here too, our comment was not dismissed but received in a friendly manner! We would be happy to come back!

Motel One is a Clean, efficient, pleasant place to lay your head while exploring an interesting city. The staff was helpful and the bar on the 8th floor was fun! There is an upscale convenience grocery store right next door for essentials, booze, and prepared foods. For the price, I would recommend Motel One in the city center.

After the previous good experiences in other hotels of this German chain, we decided to stay once more in a MotelOne.

The hotel has an unbeatable location as everything is within walking distance: to give you an idea, the breathtaking Nikolaikirche is just in front of the reception, if you turn the corner you are on the pedestrian and busy Grimmaische Straße and in 5 minutes you can reach the Hauptbahnhof too.

Room is larger than the ones of other Motel One hotels but still basic (little or no furniture at all; maybe just a safe and a mini-fridge would be appreciated).
The bathroom is small too, but the shower works very good.

Reception is cozy but there is a nice larger lounge at the 1st floor.

WiFi works properly all around the property.
Can't say anything about the breakfast as we were on a only-bed treatment.

If you are fully aware of what you are reserving when staying at a Motel One (an affordable design hotel, with essential services), you can only give a 5 stars rating. They never disappoint you.

There is really nothing to fault here - clean, bright, quiet room; fun bar on the top floor with views across the city; unobtrusively good service; very reasonably priced. If I am back in Leipzig, I would definitely stay here again.

We booked Motel One based mainly on its location close to the Opera House on Augustusplatz, but it is also super convenient for the sights in the old part of Leipzig. The room was fairly basic but very comfortable, warm, clean, and had sufficient space for a short stay, although storage for clothes would be tight if you were staying for any length of time. Overall highly recommended and we will certainly use it again for trips to Leipzig.

The hotel, situated right next to the university was the ideal place to nest for a few days at a very reasonable rate. The staff is friendly, location is great, rooms are compact but was okay for a single traveler like me. There should be a better protocol to indicate the need for a towel change. The present protocol of getting it from the front-desk is a bit cumbersome though I have to add that the staff was always cheerful and helpful.

I only wish they added an electric kettle to the room along with cups and tea / coffee sachets. Though the coffee shops are just next to the hotel - it is difficult for me to boot up for the day without a cup of tea first thing in the morning.

In the centre of the city and within a halfhour taxi ride from the Leipzig - Halle AirPort. Hotel is modern and neat and appropriate for a short business stay. Haven't seen enough of the city to give other trip advises. But it looks likes a city under a large transformation with a lot of pre 80ties architecture.
Hotel offers a simple continental breakfast That may not fulfill everybodies requirements.
