We (2 teeny kids and me) stayed at the hotel for one night while driving from Bavaria to Northern Europe occupying 2 rooms (2019 and neighbour room)
• The hotel building is a typical business/congress hotel probably designed in the 70s and later on renovated. It's huge for a city like Leipzig (27 floors!)
• Upon arrival we received a courtesy room upgrade due to Bonvoy membership.
• The rooms matched the standard you expect from Westin or any equivalent hotel chain.
• The current booking situation was typical for the ongoing CoVid phase and must be a financial nightmare for hotel owners: I assume less than 10% of the rooms were occupied.
• Checkin/checkout was fast and professional (you can even check in and out by an app and avoid reception completely). The final (and correct) invoice was in my email within seconds after we left the hotel.
• Given the special cicrumstances these days, the breakfast buffet featured more variety that I witnessed at other places .
• The location is perfect: Very easy to reach from the Autobahn and once there you can walk to most restaurants and attractions downtown Leipzig in about 10 minutes.
• Safe parking is always expensive downtown Leipzig. I was lucky to get a parking spot at the "rondell" right across the reception which I would call "super safe parking" - so I was able to leave most of our travel luggage in the car overnight. The price for that "special parking" is 24€ for 24 hours and worth it (if you care about safe trouble-free parking).
• There are more than enough hand desinfectants all over the hotel.
• There were some elderly guests, probably a senior group, who tend to simply forget basic corona rules. Like for example six of them tried to enter the elevator without masks while we were already 2 persons in there. A simple remark "Please wait for the next elevator and please use your masks" made them blush and apologize...because they really simply forgot about the rules. There is nothing hotel stuff can do about situations like this - every guest should in a very polite way remind others about hygenic safety e.g. when it comes to elderly people.
Bottomline: A practical and clean hotel operated by a very friendly and polite crew. I will for sure stay again at Westin when travelling to or though Leipzig.

We stayed here for 3 nights during the time of pretty strict covid rules so having an easy access to great food and drinks was a great plus! Can't thank the barman Miky enough for amazing cocktails even off the menu. It was also pretty cold outside so having access to sauna for 5EUR per person was essential. The pool was great as well, but would be a bit on the cold side. I could swim but wouldn't stay in for more than 10 min at a time. Great view, city center location, very friendly staff, comfy bed, modern design.

I appreciated the upgraded room I was given at check in, but disappointed that my room was not cleaned during my stay. More important, I was surprised when people twice entered my room without knocking early one morning. I asked at the front desk why that had happened and was informed that I would receive a response – but I did not receive any explanation or apology. The hotel does not provide laundry service and there was no executive lounge, at least during my stay. The buffet breakfast was excellent. The hotel is just a few minutes away from the city’s first-rate zoo. If I were to return to Leipzig, I would choose a hotel in the inner city

We booked for 5 nights, stayed for 1, but paid for 2 as we left after work. There was no tea or coffee available anywhere. No kettle or coffee machine in the room, not available at the bar or in the foyer as some reviews have stated, so they must have changed that. There is NO room service at all! Breakfast was the only place you could have a hot drink and at 25 euros pp that's an expensive cup of liquid! They brought us a kettle when asked but no cups, I then had to request them and was asked "don't you have any"! There is no fridge in the room anyway, so it's black coffee or herbal tea but bring your own coffee or tea bags as these aren't available either. There is a bottle of warm water in the room but it costs 4.5 Euros. The towels are old, thin, grey and rough. The pool costs 10 euros, even to hotel guests! Room wasn't serviced by 5.30pm so we checked out and moved into an amazing apartment hotel a few hundred yards away. It has absolutely everything you could want, including a pool for the same price. Positives of the westin - great view from upper floors, great bar staff and food. Also, they speak English at reception. We will never return or book business associates in.

It is hard to believe, but we have been waiting for it since March. In-room water is complimentary for our Platinum, Titanium and Ambassador Marriott Bonvoy guests. We provide a small beverage station in our lobby 24/7 for complimentary water and coffee. We will evaluate this request internally and discuss with the departments concerned how we could best implement this. Tea and coffee making facilities are available on request. It's the worst Westin I've ever been to. I kinda suspected it could be problematic but it turned out to be just awful. It's old although looks renovated but it looks the renovation was sloppy and it shows in calcium deposits and rust at the bottom of the shower doors, and an undersized carpet mat in the elevator with floor plywood visible thru the gaps, and old unkept doors on the sides of the building. Pretense of luxury that is not there. The room was tiny. Just enough to put a bed in. Moving the chair at the computer desk presented a challenge. The bed was horrific. Soft to the degree one could roll over and fall to the floor. The pillows were thin and flat as a pancake. I had to roll them up to make something with a semblance of a pillow. The bathroom had a couple of long black hairs on its floor, strangely overlooked by the housekeeping notwithstanding the accent provided by its light color tiles. I suppose vacuuming is not mandatory there. The only good thing the location is central and the building was seen from various points of the altstadt providing an excellent waymark. And the view from the top floors is nice.

As a guest and tourist, I find it very worrying that there is no concierge service (anymore) at the Westin Leipzig.
I also find it regrettable that the minibar has been removed. Two bottles of mineral water at room temperature are not a real alternative.
In the fitness room, no one seems to care that there are always enough towels - that is very weak. The fact that there is no fresh drinking water in the fitness room is unacceptable to me as a guest. Offering tap water with a filter in the toilet as an alternative is just embarrassing. No one seems to have noticed that the TVs on the Life Fitness machines (treadmill) don't work.
Overall, the stay was nothing but a huge disappointment. You will never see me at the Westin Leipzig again.

This is a beautiful hotel centrally located in the heart of downtown Leipzig, just a short walk from the Hauptbahnhof and the Zentrum. The staff was friendly and attentive. The room (which was also a complimentary upgrade) was very nice with a good view. The Spa and Pool was great but it was an additional €5 charge per entry. At first I was annoyed there was a charge, but when I got there there and it was totally empty, I enjoyed the peace and quiet.

We will let our team know. It’s understandable that it is not common to pay separately for our SPA entry. As a company we want to be fully transparent with our pricing. Since 1 July 2015, the Federal Ministry of Finance has introduced the standard VAT rate of 19% on sauna and swimming pool services in hotels. Free use for hotel guests is therefore no longer possible. For this reason, we have chosen price differentiation and have not allocated the price as a lump sum, but only for actual use. Additionally due to the rising energy prices we would be forced to increase our room rates massively overall for all guests. So our management has decided to leave it up to the guests if they want to use the SPA area. It is not our intension to overprice the roomrates. We understand those are difficult times and we are doing everything we can to maintain the SPA area and keep it open even though we are battling the increasing costs. The air conditioning in the room didn't work, it was incredibly stuffy and hot. Even with the window open it was impossible to sleep. Added to that was the very poor soundproofing in the room, you could hear the wind from the hallway all night. When we told the woman at the reception about this when we left, she showed no interest whatsoever. Overall a terrible experience. The Westin in Leipzig was a total disappointment. There is no decent restaurant for dinner - only a bar where nobody pays attention to you. We went there, waited 10 minutes, no waiter came, and even when we called him he ignored us. The spa charges an extra 10 euros, but neither the hotel website nor the reception tells you this - you only find out when you go there in a bathrobe. The spa is not worth it at all, the water in the pool is very cold - swimming is impossible. In short, avoid this place! The staff doesn't care about the hotel and the guests at all, they just want to squeeze more money out of you.

This Westin is in a great location, easy walking distance from the station and close to the main square. Room was nice, bed comfortable, had good sleep and staff friendly and helpful. Helped replace pillows after first night. Gym is reasonable for a hotel gym, didn't use the swim/spa area (10euro charge to use it) However, I was surprised that there was no fridge/kettle in the room? First time I had experienced that.

+ Very good central location, nice atmosphere in the lobby, very good breakfast.
- Overpriced parking spaces, hardly any power outlets in the room (only 2 - 1 in the bathroom, 1 under the desk). Furniture in the room was very old, the double bed was a disaster, 2 worn-out mattresses, they came apart in the middle, but if you lay down on the edge you fell out of bed, pillow quality was bad. We had a small capsule coffee machine, unfortunately not filled (no milk, no sugar...). In the bathroom the toilet paper roll was empty, only one sheet was stuck, this was folded in a triangle shape. The seal on the shower door in the bathtub was hanging half loose.
We were in Leipzig for a wedding, got back to the room late, had to check out by 12pm, unfortunately cleaning service came to the room twice (once at 9am and once at 10am!), that's not acceptable on the day of departure!!!
The worst thing, however, was the unfriendliness of the staff at reception. Especially the woman with ID number 3014!!!!! She issued the wrong bill, and when it was pointed out to her, she argued and then said that the change would take a long time. At the end I thanked her for her rudeness, to which she replied "VERY HAPPY"!!!! That doesn't have to happen, in a hotel of this price category you expect professionalism and above all friendliness!!! We will never travel to this hotel again.
