Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.

If you are after somewhere close to everything at a reasonable price, this is your place.

The staff are friendly and helpful, rooms are clean, my only regret is I didn't stay longer.

The hostel is conveniently placed in the centre with plenty of bars and restaurants near by.

The rooms are simple and clean. Surroundings a bit noisy due to central location, but one should not go to Leipzig to sleep 😉.

The location is ideal and prices âge correct.

Very nice and helpful staff.

I went to the five elements in leipzig with 3 of my friends this weekend. We paid 12.50€ + 4€ for breakfast each. And honestly, that prize is just amazing! First of all the location of the hostel is great. It's directly next to the "barfusz gasse" which is a famous area for drinks. You can walk to the trainstation and almost all the sights without any problems. It's located in a pedestrian zone, so there's almost no noise. Secondly the employees are very nice and friendly. They explained everything and answered every question we had. In addition we got a free welcome shot at the bar and the barkeeper was great as well. He even let us eat our pizza there. There was also the option for a free dinner, but we didn't make use of it. I can highly recommend to go to the bar and try a Maisel's Hefeweizen! It's amazing :)
The rooms were also very clean and new. We had a private flat for 4 people: 1 double bed and a loft bed. They even put some gummibears on the pillow and provided towels and bed sheets.
Lastly to the breakfast: you get everything you need from coffee and juice to cake and bread and it also tastes good.

All in all I can highly recommend to stay there. It was one of the best hostels I've ever been to :)

Positive
• right in the middle of the old city
• restaurants, bars etc. …. all around
• my room: spacious room .. with 6 bunk beds and ensuite bathroom (spacious as well and clean)
• bed was comfy – with one power socket and one small light

Negative
• check-in only after 4pm (although you can store your bags earlier)
• towel and pad lock only at extra cost
• my locker was not clean – contained still small trash from other people
• reception is only open from 8am to 11pm …. problems if you are arriving late

Pros
The location of the hotel is really good. It’s right in the heart of action. In addition, upon entering the room, there is a mini kitchenette which was a good surprise.

Cons. (Be ready, there are a lot)
First of all, there is no attached parking lot. Actually, the closest parking is about five minutes walk away.

There is no help in getting your luggage up into your room. Actually come out you have to get everyone upstairs yourself. There is no cart to help you out. When you add that to the lock of parking, it becomes a real problem.

There is only one person checking you in. She is also the receptionist for the bar and restaurant downstairs.

When you make it up in the room, you quickly realize that there is NO AIR CONDITIONING. You played that the weather cooperate. What makes this matter even more difficult to deal with is the fact that the room is very small. It heats up very quickly

If you open the windows to try to get the temperature down, the cigarette smoke from the next room will quickly enter your room. Actually, you feel like you’re sitting with your next-door neighbor together as the rooms are very close to each other. You can see and him loud and clear. I’m sure they can see you and hear you loud and clear too.

The view from the window is mediocre at best. You see the glass roof of the common area and restaurants downstairs.

The shower is small. There is NO VENTING for the toilet. Hence, if one of your companion has a G.I. issue, then the rest of the travelers will SMELL the pain until they leave the hotel

The microwave was not working. The response to the complaint of such was that“We will take a note of it“. Why do I care if the microwave is fixed after I leave? How do I know that the previous occupant complained about it or not?

The TV is very small. It is slightly smaller than my computer monitor.

Big hostel and large rooms.
Bed was okay in comfort however slept in better hostels.
Wi-fi was working on and off.

Best thing about this location is you are right in the centre near a great market and access to all the shops.

This was a great hostel! I stayed in a 10 bed mixed dorm and it was so spacious! Most hostels I've stayed in are not this big or nice. The room had a large table and chairs which was nice to be able to sit somewhere other than my bed. Also there was a bathroom ensuite that was cleaned daily. There was a board at reception that showed everything going on in town during the week and it was very helpful. You do get charged a 5 € deposit for your linen and key card but you get it back when you check out, just for anyone paying with cash, make sure you have the extra 5! Overall a great hostel, centrally located to the sites, and a clean environment to go back to.

This has to be the best hostel I've stayed in so far! I've stayed in a number of the rooms. They fitted me even even though the place was mostly full. Every room is very spacious and more like a hotel. The dorm rooms are large with ensuit toilets and showers. Lockers are included in the rooms.

The security is excellent! You have a card to get to a room. Each floor, passage way or elevator requires the card to be used. It usually required the card to be used two to three times to get to a room. The place is very secure!

The reception (24 hours) and lounge are very grand and modern. The lounge is comfortable for social events and meeting people. Point to note! The hostel cooks for its guests (FREE) every Thursday. Really great food! Also on Monday evenings is Crepe night in reception. Also FREE!

I felt that this was the most comfortable hostel I've stayed in! Very friendly and welcoming!

This is a promising hostel,
It has a lot of good reviews and it acupuncture,
I found it very dirty especially the walls the lounge area.
It pisses me off because it could be so much better but I guess the cleaning staff has no idea how things should look like!
Breakfast was also nothing special.

When we were checking in, the woman behind the counter said we will need to pay in cash. I explained about our reservation via booking.com was held with a VISA credit card. The confirmation page clearly stated this establishment accepts VISA. The woman didn’t have time to listen to my explanation. Luckily I had enough cash to pay for our 2 night stay. Be warned! Make sure you have the cash to stay here. Our room was 103 which was located next to the noisy stairwell (door slamming and loud footsteps) and overlooked the outside entrance plaza. Unfortunately smokers like standing in the plaza area. We couldn’t open our windows without having the smoke fill the room. The room is very stark with a small cafeteria style table and four chairs. The room has a private bathroom with 2 water glasses, tissues, and shower soap. The towel was completely black after wiping the shower spray off the floor. Who knows when the floor was last cleaned! We would not stay here again even though the location is perfect to the market. The car park was also convenient with Thomaskirche for 10.00 euro/day.

Hi!, I didn't saw the question before really sorry about that. We didn't use any method of transportation but our feet, as it is a very small city, so I really don't know about that facility, as the hostel is near the city hall, I suppose it might be difficult to park, but as I said, I don't know it for sure
