I stayed at this place for two nights to re-visit Leipzig after many, many years--and found this hotel to be delightful, clean, and even a bit charming. The staff was friendly, smiling, and courteous; the room clean, though not spectacular. It is about 3.6 km (2miles??) from the city center, but apparently there is a tram stop not far away. It's got its own restaurant and serves breakfast; there is a parking lot in the back of the hotel. The staff pay attention to detail--quite nice.

I stayed in this hotel recently and found it very adequate for my purposes. It is a bed and breakfast establishment, without a bar or lounge. The room and en-suite were very clean and tidy. The breakfast buffet was very adequate with a good range of hot and cold foods on offer. The one blot is the location of the hotel. There was a lot of graffiti on the nearby buildings, most of which seemed derelict. This is a pity because the hotel is quite near the city centre and offers good value for money.

We came for exhibition time, so we got small rooms, my room was on the road, 3rd floor, a bit noisy. I also heard neighbour snoring the first night. Bathroom rather standard with an old fashion shower stall. One very friendly lady at the front desk, other ladies not so nice. Parking costs 7 euros per night. City access by tram. Green area not that far.

Room was in the attic and sloping roof meant extra care when getting out of bed. Non smoking room but that had been ignored by a previous guest. Poor ventilation, excessive noise from disco and the area is definitely bandit country. Avoid this hotel.

Stayed for three nights end of June 2017. The hotel was excellent. The staff were smiling, polite and very helpful.
The room was comfortable and the bathroom excellent.
The hotel is a little removed from the city centre but public transport system is very good. Journey time to the hotel is 10 - 15 minutes

A friendliness we already missed at CheckIn, which took place rather in a musty tone. At first glance, the hotel seemed well-kept, at second but seriously worn out and time for a thorough renovation, which until now seemed to be only "smart" and with brushes and new accessories. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom clean. The seating in the room seemed to have come from the restaurant and was totally sat through and the upholstery cracked. The rooms of the historic building have no air conditioning, but ours has a powerful fan. We were at a wedding party in Schleußig, which was asked by the police 23:00h for rest. In L-Altlindenau neither law nor order prevailed - but throughout the night Antifa in the (occupied?) Buildings opposite the hotel. The hottest night of the month, also here, literally flew bottles, it was unbearably loud and remained largely sleepless. Photos from 01:50h - no sign of police!
The BREAKFAST for €12,- was not worth more. An extremely lovelessly assembled buffet with a small selection and far too heavily brewed coffee from pump pots said "Go and never come back!" This has arrived!

We stayed at the Hotel Merseburg for 4 nights. The hotel was great, the breakfast was plentiful. The attached Vietnamese restaurant was great. The S-Bahn connection is quick and there are no long waits.
If we come back to Leipzig, we would book here again.
The only drawback: it is relatively loud at night if the window is open - it's a city, after all
